This is a beautifully done film.
It's pacing is deliberate, a deliberate build of the tension that drives the story - and all the cast and crew comport their performances and work accordingly.
First , it is a gorgeous "period" piece - that 1960's part of Parisian society that was more traditionally French than "swinging". The film has a warm sepia tonality, the sets are perfect and the couture exquisite.
Each of the actors' performances are are likewise perfectly in tune - subdued, nuanced, provoking.
The whole thing flow gracefully and inexorably.
I don't want to give anything away so I'll stop here - but as I said in my title: this one will keep you guessing - till you know, that's all.
