Bulgarian here. The movie is bad.
1. Sound - I had to watch it with the subtitles on - the sound is so loud and yet i can barely understand some of the spoken words in my maternal language.
2. Acting - this was a shame. I am truly ashamed of the acting in this movie. There was a scene with one of Bulgaria's popular actors where he falls to the ground... this was done as if we are second graders performing at a school play. Also all the actors were overdoing it ALL the time. There is a pathetic scene with a kick in the balls at one point.... shame, shame.
3. Dialogue - soundeed, looked and felt artificial.
4. Overall sense - none. Characters don't make sense, scenes don't follow a natural order to bring a thorough story. Character development is nonexistent, we just jump from a moment to moment without any explanation whatsoever. It's just a glorified advertisement of a gambling brand and a vaping one.
If you want to watch a bulgarian movie please choose something else. This one should be buried and forgotten. Amateur stuff.

It has been a very long time since the last time Bulgaria had a movie with a good story to tell and a little twist in between.
The whole time I have been asking myself constantly "Is this based on a true story?", as the movie does tell the true story behind the scenes of the music/movie industry in our little country. I would've wished for a different ending however just the way it is - it is absolutely perfect.
Great job to the Bulgarian team that managed to create such a tragic yet so truthful story in such a great way! And special kudos to Eleonora (our little Barbie)! Bravo!
Absolutely impressive!

As a viewer, I'm always on the lookout for movies that not only entertain but also resonate deeply with real-life experiences. "Chalga" is one such gem that left a lasting impression on me.
From start to finish, the movie weaves a compelling narrative that feels incredibly close to reality. It delves into themes that are not only relevant but also essential for young girls to understand and learn from. As the story unfolded, I found myself captivated by the characters' journeys and the valuable lessons embedded within.
After watching "Chalga," I can't help but feel that it deserves to be rated much higher. It's a film that offers more than just entertainment; it's a source of inspiration and empowerment. I wholeheartedly believe that it's worth watching.

After watching, I sat around for 10 minutes not believing that this was one of the best movies I've seen this year.
Kudos to the cast, the director and everyone involved.
Usually bulgarian movies are either too brutal and sad, or too dull. This one has struck a decent balance. The risky comedic parts were mostly very good.
The movie managed to stay true to itself and yet be refreshing and didn't try and push political agendas as it happens so often nowadays.
All in all, this is one of the best bulgarian movies I've seen and when I sat down to watch it, I definitely did not expect that to be the case :))

As a movie lover, didn't expect such deeply tru e masterpiece, about the modern lifestyle, bulgarian actors and all filmed with mobile phones!
More accurately, mister Vylev has produced a short version of the sad and brutal reality of the young generation Z.
The real problem of the modern youngsters, is not the chalga, not the alcohol, drugs or prostitute... Follow and dreaming for something without even knowing why, just because everybody else, want it... Dreaming for easy money, traveling, filming or singing, just because is modern, popular and easy. Wihtout thinking abou the sacrifices needed to achieve something. Judging people for their lookalike, no for their capabilities!
All of this is converted, to be easy understandable by the majority of youngsters... And yet, an amazing script, very good actor crew and a strong message for the future generations!!!
