Kevin Hart called and hung up on J.K. Simmons just to prove to Seth Meyers that he’d worked with the “Red One” star before.
In the “Late Night” host’s bar-themed segment, “Seth & Kevin Go Day Drinking,” Meyers told Hart that he’d show the comedian a series of actors and Hart would have to share if he’d worked with them or not.
Given that Hart has been in “over 100 projects” (Meyers joked their computers crashed after pulling up the actor’s IMDb page), the host went through several Hollywood stars, including Denzel Washington, Jennifer Aniston and Luke Wilson until he finally pulled up an image of J.K. Simmons.
Before misidentifying him as Richard Jenkins, who was shown next to Simmons’ photo, Hart said he’s certain he and Simmons shared a set together, but it was for a movie that’s yet to come or be...

While Die Hart 2: Die Harter may sound like a fake movie title, not only is it real, but some big names are attached to the cast of Amazon Studios’ latest Prime Video release.
The Die Hart franchise has been an incredibly meta, self-indulgent comedy about an exaggerated (or maybe not) version of Kevin Hart as he tries to become an action star instead of just being known as a joke.
With the second installment, everything gets crazier to the point that his life is threatened by those once close to him.

Many people have dreams of being an actor, sometimes in film and sometimes in television roles.
Some actors fall into the opportunity through lots of auditions, training, and from knowing the right people. But others get their start by becoming a famous name first.
Athletes are often in the public eye, gaining a following for being good at their chosen sport. Once they retire from their profession, some continue to grow their popularity through other ventures.
Many athletes turn to acting, whether through television advertisements and commercials like Coach Prime, Patrick Mahomes, Tom Brady, Derek Jeter, Eli Manning, and Kevin Durant.
Other athletes like Travis Kelce, Pat McAfee, Deion Sanders (Prime), and Dale Earnhardt, Jr. do podcasts to attract a following.
Some celebrities do one-shot cameos, like Michael Jordan and LeBron James in Space Jam, Uncle Drew starring NBA star Kyrie Irving, Airplane! with Kareem Abdul Jabbar, and Blue Chips...

It’s been just a few hours since Nathalie Emmanuel has seen Francis Ford Coppola’s Megalopolis for the first time, and she’s settling on the right words to describe the experience.
“It’s like nothing I’ve ever seen,” says the actress, talking over Zoom from London in late April, as she pauses for a second to collect her thoughts.
Coppola’s epic, which will have its red carpet world premiere at the 2024 Cannes Film Festival, casts Emmanuel in a starring role opposite a stacked ensemble that includes Adam Driver, Giancarlo Esposito, Aubrey Plaza, Shia Labeouf, Dustin Hoffman, Laurence Fishburne and Jason Schwartzman. “The movie feels like a real call to arms,” she says. “It asks big questions. In spite of all the horrible, hard and devastating realities of the world that we live in, how can we make it better? It feels like there’s hope or a possibility for something better.

Plot: A band of expert criminals led by Cyrus Whitaker is recruited to do what they do best — lift $500 million in gold from a passenger plane— but they must do it mid-flight at 40,000 feet!
Review: The entire plot of the Quibi/Roku series Die Hart hinges on Kevin Hart wanting to break out of comedy roles so he can be taken seriously as an action hero. After parodying his attempts to become an action-movie star in the Quibi/Roku short film series Die Hart (later compiled into a Amazon Prime feature), Kevin Hart goes for the gold in the genre and attempts to do the real thing in Lift, an absurdly ridiculous, over the top but still entertaining heist movie that strains credibility at every turn — but who cares because it’s got Hart.

Brian De Palma's "Carrie" was the film that defined a generation. Its blend of coming-of-age themes, fantastical magic, and slasher-style bloodshed makes it a genre-bending film that time just can't seem to forget.
The 1976 horror tells the story of a sheltered girl who lives under her obsessively religious mother's tyrannical rule, a dictatorship made all the worse by the onset of Carrie's period. Her mother's frenzy combined with a cruel prank at the prom pushes the shy young girl to a mental break, complete with telekinetic powers. The Stephen King adaptation launched some incredibly notable careers, including John Travolta, who plays high school bully Billy Nolan. Sadly, not all of the cast has lived to see the end of 2023, including Piper Laurie, whose performance as Carrie's mother earned her one of three Oscar nominations in her lifetime.

Who’s the next big action hero? Well, if Netflix has anything to do with it, it’ll be Kevin Hart, with them dropping the trailer for the comedian’s upcoming movie, Lift. A heist film in the vein of Fast & Furious, in it Hart plays the leader of a high-tech gang of crooks hired by the government to steal $500 million in gold that’s being used to fund a terror cell. What’s the catch? The gold is on a passenger plane, and the gang needs to steal it mid-flight.
While this sounds like it would be easy peasy for the Fast & Furious gang, Hart’s crew is a little less badass. It includes Billy Magnussen and Úrsula Corberó, who, it should be noted, isn’t new to stealing cash following a few seasons on Netflix’s Money Heist.

Before she was editing “Weird: The Al Yankovic Story,” Jamie Kennedy was already a massive fan of “Weird” Al Yankovic. “My partner and I are both huge fans of “Weird” Al. We’ve been to four of his concerts out here in L.A. since living out here. He is just our favorite artist,” she tells Gold Derby during our recent webchat (watch the exclusive video interview above). She was able to land the gig of editing the film because of her work editing “Die Hart” for Eric Appel, who co-wrote and directed the film.
