Episode 7 was the clear best episode of the season. Jake Gyllenhaal proves yet again that he is one of the best actors working today with every scene. This episode has some of the most intense scenes of any series I've ever seen. The directing in the court room scenes are immaculate and should get Emmy nominations next year, along with the performances by Jake Gyllenhaal and Peter Sarsgaard. This episode leaves you anticipating the next week and constantly thinking about what could happen. As we approach the final episode, this episode asks all the questions in the best way possible. This is the best episode of the season so far!

This show has got better and intense with each episode! The extreme and intriguing intensity in this one is beyond the ordinary flow of the show. It's still in a stalemate situation - there are at least 4 people who are pointed out as the potential culprit apart from Rusty, but whose guilt will be proved eventually? We still have no clue - it is now anybody's guess! Watch out for the final episode!
As a law student, from a legal standpoint, I have found this episode very well composed and correctly done. The vehemence of the scene when the boy was put on the witness stand and the magnitude and legal points involved in the scene when Jake was put on the stand was very gripping and stimulating from a legal standpoint.
When in a court of law - it is not what you know or saw, it is "what you can prove".
Everyone has acted phenomenally, but I personally think Jake's standard is much more higher as he portrayed in his other projects.
I already feel bad as this amazing show is coming to an end! And i certainly hope that Season 2 will be announced soon!

Yeah, Jake is a good actor. The changes in the script and plot provide enough twists and turns to keep you interested, especially the cliffhanger endings to each episode, but there are issues..
The actors that are strong are obvious, and so are the two or three that are weak. I won't bore you by belaboring those points.
The most significant problem is that Rusty, supposedly an excellent lawyer, continually makes the wrong choices, abuses trust and lashes out in the most inappropriate ways. Not only is the character wildly different than the movie with Harrison ford, but the character doesn't make sense within the series' plot.
Carolyne Polhemus is dead. His obsessive pursuit of her is extinguished. His motivation is now twofold: find her killer and bring them to justice, and exonerate himself. But his actions undermine those two goals every time. And the way he burns every important relationship until this episode, where there is a surprising and unearned turnaround, rings false.
I'll watch the finale, and I hope there's some sort of unifying plot thread to bring some real sense to all of this.
