The main actor playing the role of Dzej had actually no acting experience prior to the movie, but used to be very popular as the founder of the YU Dance group "Beat Street" in the nineties in the Balkans and also he had some success as songwriter for other artists. They use to call him "Husa Beat Street". One of the reasons he was casted for this role was because of his personal close bond to the actual Dzej who he was playing, as they had known each other for about thirty years until Dzej passed away in December 2020.
The actor (Alen Selimi) playing the main character Dzej in his kids/teenage years was casted while selling roses to tourists in the polular bohemian street in Belgrade called "Skadarska"/"Skadarlija". He had to perform the song "Nedelja" and nailed it so he got the role immediately. Since the high popularity of the movie the co-actors are now organising help for better living conditions for him and his family in order to match it more with his current acting success.
The actor playing one of the friends of Dzej called Mica is Aleksej Bjelogrlic and is the son of the very famous and successful Serbian actor Dragan Bjelogrlic. This was the first time Aleksej performed in a movie, while playing in tv shows and in theaters before.
