A movie for a lazy calm summer night.
Watch it without high expectations.
It is not terror, is closer to comedy, I would say it is... explorative.
It looks like a film school student wanted to offer an homage to Lynch's mannerisms, using (palating) all of his trademark moments: close-ups of blazing flames, flickering lights, slow word-by-word dialogs, mysterious characters, quirky characters, confusion of characters, interweaved dreamy scenes, a profound oniric feeling, sometimes nightmarish, tense menacing background music, headlights on the road....the list continues.
It plays with some other references (I enjoyed that Capt. Spaulding).
In summary, not for everyone, not a masterpiece, but it can leave you with a smile on your face.
I give it a 7 because of the references and because, within it's budget and possibilities, it's done with love and respect for the work of the master.
