Dick's first sold short story, written with the title "Friday Morning" for Anthony Boucher's writer's workshop in Berkeley, California in October 1951, accepted by The Magazine of Fantasy and Science Fiction (F & SF) on November 15, 1951, though not printed until their February 1953 issue, with the new title "Roog".
