- Lobo overpowers Kent, Wayne, and Prince, capturing them and bringing J'once to Mongul, who has been traversing the multiverse, collecting captives in search of a being who could unlock Warworld's destructive power. Mongul believes J'once might hold the key to harnessing the planet-destroying force hidden within the war machine.
However, Lobo, eyeing Warworld for himself, betrays Mongul just as the tyrant prepares to execute J'once. As Superman, Batman, and Wonder Woman recover their costumes, they battle their way through Warworld to reach Mongul's throne room. Along the way, they face brutal challenges set by Mongul's minions, and even confront the monstrous defenses of Warworld itself. With each step, the stakes grow higher as they push deeper into the heart of Mongul's empire.
Meanwhile, J'once, finding a way to communicate with the imprisoned White Martian, merges with the creature, revealing that the two halves of the key to Warworld's power were hidden in the DNA of both Martian races. The fusion grants J'once the knowledge and strength to wield the full power of the key. Possessing both halves, J'once activates Warworld's self-destruct sequence, sending the planet-killer into a countdown.
At the last moment, a mysterious woman intervenes, rescuing Superman, Batman, and Wonder Woman, deporting them to safety at the Monitor's satellite just as Warworld is obliterated. She warns that the destruction of Warworld is nothing compared to the impending Crisis. Her words hang in the air, a dire warning of a greater threat yet to come, as the heroes brace for the unknown storm on the horizon.
