Kayden Kross gives new femme directors (actresses Stoya and Adria Rae) and talent a spotlight in this mediocre set of four "Deeper" scenes packaged as a DVD.
DVD title is misleading if taken literally, since there are so few lines of dialogue that "between" doesn't work. Rather, these frankly gonzo sex scenes suggest some secrets not made explicit to the viewer. For example, in "Familiar Strangers", Scarlett Bloom is attacked by Small Hands in a home invasion, yet they both enjoy the dom/sub sex immediately. The obvious implication is that they're just a couple spicing things up via role-playing. Director Adria Rae doesn't resolve this, following the common porno rule of wrapping up a scene once the XXX content is over, rather than treating an audience fairly.
Rae directed three of the four vignettes here, the remaining one helmed by superstar of a decade-plus ago: Stoya. Titled: "You Know What I Like", it's a pretentious, rather cold and remote (due to cast reciting their lines in a monotone) sex scene of lovers Mickey Mod and Alexis Tae with Tae as a submissive.
Adria Rae's other two segments are a bore: Small Hands returns as a guy having an erotic fantasy (or is it? -left hanging again) of lover in "Flower Girl" Vina Sky strewing roses' petals all over the apartment -a hoary porno "romantic" cliche prior to going to Hands and servicing him in bed.
The other vignette by Rae is "Where Were You". Petite blonde Scarlett Bloom does her housework and prepares a romantic dinner for two, but lover Markus Dupree doesn't show up. When he eventually arrives, she gets justifiably mad at him, but after a few seconds of violence, they immediately make love: instant making up. Markus does his usual gonzo thing for the usual domination/submission porn content Deeper fans have become accustomed to watching.
