Rewind Honest review...
If you have another chance to go back to the past and alter the current events of your life to save the one you love, would you do it?
Stories with "time travel" has been one of the common case scenario in today's movies and tv series but how the story tellers pull of that kind of storyline is the question of the day. In this Filipino film entry, the time travel plot is similar to other movies and it was said that the film's plot was somehow similar to the 2004 film "If Only." I could say the same thing about the execution of this film. It is something that we have seen before only with a bit difference.
But as some viewers watch for the plot itself, the lessons learned from this movie is what makes this movie standout. The movie's real story begins when the deal between John and "Lods" took place. This time, there's a chance to alter the reality where John is currently living. Things happen because they have to happen. "Change happens. Tragedy happens. People make choices, and those choices affect everyone else" And those events in our lives ought to change us for the better. To make us a better version of ourselves. Events are truly meant to be a "fixed point in time." But this film reminds us that despite the fact where time can be reversed is truly impossible, our God is God of second chances. -but never make a deal or a promise that you couldn't keep.
It's a family film but if you have already lost someone, you'll feel the emotion more in this film as well.
Cons: -too much ads and some of them are too pushy -funny scenes are added during some emotional scenes (teka kala ko shark) -plot is typical / usual Pros: -the lessons learned -the performance of the lead cast -a movie that reminds us to trust God even during our lowest Rewind film is 7.5/10 for me.
Too many misses, too few hits.

I've never been in movie houses since long time ago, more so for a Filipino movie. There's 3 movies that captures my attention to this year's MMFF namely Firefly, GomBurZa & Rewind. I got some resource to spend on for just 1 movie and so I decided to watch Rewind for a simple reason.. I have a soft spot for works of art relating to the gift of life & family for years now, and Rewind happens to have that based on its synopsis. Thankfully, it didnt disappoint.
This movie is a realization of faith, whether its faith to God and His plans, your loved one, or to your craft.. its a realization for all walks of life. And when it kicks in, it hits to the core.. and there's no holding back those tears.
Hands down to Dingdong, Marian & Pepe for portraying John, Mary & Jess/Lods respectively. The nominations are all well-deserved. And I wont have a single doubt if they actually won acting awards in the future for this. Nakakainis kayo! Halos kasisimula pa lang, parang sinisipon na ako. Buti na lang hindi ako nag-iisa, isang tulo, tingin o hikbi lang, nakakadala na..
Good word of mouth for the film definitely deserves it. It's a Filipino film that made my faith to Philippine drama close to what I hope it to be.
P. S. That subtle "Sa Susunod na Habang Buhay" instrumental bg music is well placed. It didnt felt too repetitive at all.. even though it was the only song I heard of being played all throughout the film. And when the vocals finally volumes up, wow! So satisfying! I liked it before and love it now.

Nrinig ko kc ung song ng ben&ben.. kya naiiyamot ako at npfeedback dito.. As a viewer, I was eagerly anticipating a fresh and innovative cinematic experience. However, what I encountered was a blatant imitation of "IF ONLY" from its storyline to character development and even specific scenes. It felt like a carbon copy rather than a unique creation. Lalo n sa element o material o props.. simula p lng ung PROMOTION sa trabaho issue, may nbasag, travel at related sa music scenario... juskolord.
The lack of originality not only diminished my enjoyment of the film but also left me questioning the creativity and integrity of the filmmaking process. As an audience member, I value authenticity and creativity, both of which were sorely lacking in this production.
Moving forward, I urge the movie production team to prioritize originality and creative storytelling, rather than resorting to imitation and replication. Viewers deserve fresh and compelling narratives that inspire and engage, not recycled versions of existing works.

I really watched this movie and it really made me cry. The One and Only Primetime Queen acted very well. It's a shame it was underrated but it was a hit at the box office. I didn't think it would make me cry. It's like you lost your breath when you watched it. It's one of the best movies I've ever seen. The best actor is also their acting. It's really big. Congratulations To Everyone Who Made This Movie, So We Should Appreciate Our Loved Ones Before They Lose Because in The Reality Of Life there's No Rewind, No Second Chance Thank You For Showing Us The Reality, For Showing That Our Life Is Only One We Should Appreciate It Thank You Solid Dongyan.

I've lots of great Filipino movies already. This is just a typical drama story. You can already predict the story and ending. Nothing really much to expect. Now I know why this movie didn't get an award. The plot, production, and cinematography aren't good. This is just an overrated film and shouldn't be part of the Filipino film festival. Other Filipino great movies deserve the spot in the film festival. Acting isn't great as well. Just my opinion. I'd like to see new drama stories that can change how we see things. And, there are a lot of new Filipino movies that are more interesting to watch.
This movie is the first movie that actually made me cry. There was just some scenes that I can relate and affected me so maybe it was an exception, but some scenes (especially the scenes near the end) definitely was so sad. Although the storyline and the concept of the film was common, there was personal twists added. The acting and chemistry of the real-life couple Marian Rivera & Dingdong Dantes really carried out the film, as well as the extraordinary quality of the film. If you are planning to watch movies from the MMFF 2023, this one should be your first choice. I promise you... this is so worth it!

Storyline 5/10
Acting 6/10
The title is a dead giveaway. Even a child can guess what happens next. There's nothing special about this film or i just don't see it. The acting is awful especially the kid who played Austin. Im sure there are other talented child actors out there and yet there he goes practically reading his lines with an emotionless face. There were probably 5 scenes and they just repeated it. Same place, same clothes, different lines. The plot is too simple-- nothing intriguing, curious, or interesting about it. The timeline is also too short for someone to realize something profound. The fact that an hour before his death, john was still acting immature only proves how he learned nothing. Well duh-- how will someone change his entire personality overnight? How dull. Quite disappointing since i thought i was in for a good drama.
The movie's plot is its powerful asset. It teaches you about the most important things in life- love and sacrifice, forgetting oneself for the people you love, making the most of your time, a trusting relationship with God. Perhaps the message has been delivered so direct to the viewer's plate, but the effect is good all in all. The actors did a good job, especially Dingdong. If you want a feel good movie that makes you reflect about your own life at the same time, then Rewind is for you to see (perfect for the MMFF season!). It has a universal appeal even if the culture and values portrayed are strongly Filipino. For Filipinos, it affirms the good feeling of being born into this culture.
Mid-acting. Over rated storyline. PREDICTABLE. Fans of DongYan probably will appreciate. Including those "blind sheep" who don't know what original story means.
Why will you pay to watch a movie just to cry your eye out? Is in it the purpose of watching a movie is to be entertained? And people expect them to win the best actress and best actor award? Delusional.
Not a fan of DongYan. Not a hater too. Just love movies. And giving a high rating to an unoriginal movie is really not my thing. We deserve better.
Halfway watching it, I already know what will happen. Hate predictable movies. And this is the num 1 blockbuster in the Philippines. Well done.

Made me cry. Let's cherish the time we have with our love ones, we never know when, how, and where tayo mawawala. "Rewind" delves into themes of forgiveness, the consequences of one's actions, and the importance of cherishing every moment. It explores the idea that while one might have the power to change the past, the true essence of life lies in accepting and learning from it. The film encourages viewers to reflect on their own lives and relationships, making it a thought-provoking watch. "Rewind" is a beautifully crafted film that showcases the exceptional talents of Dingdong Dantes and Marian Rivera. With its engaging storyline, powerful performances, and stunning visuals, it is a must-watch for fans of Filipino cinema and romantic dramas. While some plot elements may be predictable, the film's emotional depth and the chemistry between its leads more than make up for it. "Rewind" is a testament to the enduring appeal of love stories and the magic of second chances.

Idea is not unique. They just copied the plot of "If Only" starring Jennifer Love Hewitt and Paul Nicholls
Paul Nicholls that was showed in theaters in 2004. People are fooled that this film was amazing because they thought it was an original Idea but the real thing is this is just a copy of an existing film. They just added some scenes to the movie maybe to avoid copyright claims from the producers of "If Only". Just a rip off. Filipino movies need to explore new ideas so they can head to head with foreign films. This movie bags a lot of money just by copying the ideas of an already existing film.
