When the episode went on to revolve around animatronics, director Jack Bennett proposed ending with Scott's hand getting caught in Edward the Troll's jaws, forcing the crew to cut it off at the wrist. He asked Mike Elizalde if there were any fake arms lying around the shop. Elizalde provided the actual fingerless hand prop Spectral Motion had created for Looper (2012), and with the addition of some fake blood the new ending was devised.
