Vande Maataram. Finally the film industry has attempted to address the life of the legendary freedom fighter Bagha Jatin (Jatindranath Mukherjee). None of this would have been possible without the sincere efforts of Dev. I am truly impressed by the dedication and effort that he has put in to reward the audience with this historic film. It is indeed tragic that neither the state governments of the past nor any other film-maker has ever bothered to do justice to the lives of these tigers of the freedom struggle who gave their lives improvising and fighting to win us freedom from the yoke of colonial oppressors.
The film is brilliant in tackling the the challenge of touching upon the lives of a great many freedom fighters while not stealing the thunder of the titular character. A true work of art in which the sincerity of the producers and the directors in adeptly distributing and planning the screentime and sequences is clearly evident. Highly impressed. The cast too is highly talented. Special mention must be made of Rohan Bhattacharya, Sreeja Dutta and certainly, the Pied piper himself, the man with a dream , our very own Dev Sir.
