Many of the pupils at the fictional Greybridge School were actual pupils at the school where filming took place (Bishopshalt School in Uxbridge, Middlesex). The pupils gave up their school holidays to become extras.
Five cast members have all appeared in Doctor Who. Catherine Tate played the part of Donna Noble, the Doctor's companion, David Walliams played the part of Gibbis in The God Complex, James Greene played the abbot in The Bells of Saint John and Jovian Wade played Rigsy in Flat line and Fear The Raven, Steve Speirs played Sip Fel-Fotch Passameer-Day Slitheen.

It can be assumed that Mr. Church is a fan of Phil Collins, as he is heard in his car when he tries to give Miss Postern a lift home, and again at his home in another episode when he invites her over.
