Based on social media posts, the five-time champion of MTV’s competition show suffered injuries in an unknown incident. He first shared an update with fans that didn’t provide many details.
On Christmas Eve, he shared a cryptic post on his Instagram account. It featured only a text message on a greyish background set up like a short video clip.
“To whom this may concern, Ct was in an accident. He will not be able to complete anymore Cameos today. He apologizes for any inconvenience,” his update said.
His caption only said “Sorry,” which likely left friends, fans, and castmates wondering what happened to him.

In 2021, Warner Bros. released two hybrid animated releases, which involved some of the most beloved figures in pop culture. Unfortunately, both failed to wow fans upon its release. But while both Space Jam 2 and Chloë Grace Moretz’s Tom & Jerry were critically panned disasters, the latter rubbed most the wrong way, as unlike Looney Tunes, Tom & Jerry has rarely worked on the big screen.

However, this isn’t stopping Warner Bros. from dipping their toes into the beloved IP once again, and hopefully, this time they would reject one aspect of the 2021 release, which proved to be a turn-off for many from the get-go.

Since the characters’ inception, Tom & Jerry have mostly relied on slapstick comedy and over-the-top action with little to no narrative.

Deadline reports that Warner Bros Pictures Animation is developing a brand-new Tom and Jerry movie, which will be written by Rashida Jones, Will McCormack, and Micahel Govier.
William Hanna and Joseph Barbera created the mischievous cat and mouse at MGM in 1940. Over the next two decades, they produced 114 shorts that won 7 Oscars. Others have revived the duo over the years with more shorts and a variety of TV shows. The characters most recently starred in the 2021 live-action/animated hybrid film Tom & Jerry, which received largely negative reviews and grossed $136 million worldwide.

Exclusive: Rashida Jones, Will McCormack and Michael Govier have been set to write Tom and Jerry, a feature that will be made under Bill Damaschke’s Warner Bros Pictures Animation.
They will be starting fresh on the new iteration of the misadventures of the cat Tom and mouse Jerry, hatched in 1940 by William Hanna & Joseph Barbera at MGM. Until MGM shuttered its animation division, they made 114 shorts that won 7 Oscars. Later versions came from Gene Deitch and Chuck Jones, and then others. The characters most recently toplined the 2021 hybrid film Tom & Jerry. While through the years it has been criticized for the sometimes violent ways the cat tries to trap the mouse and pays dearly for it, the venerable franchise has been an influence on many cartoon series including The Simpsons.

When it comes to musicals, few stories are as beloved or as surprisingly widespread as The Wizard of Oz. The vibrant, fantastical tale of witches, flying monkeys, and magical ruby slippers has stood the test of time. Now, with the release of Wicked, fans have another opportunity to visit the Land of Oz. Incredibly, L. Frank Baum's children's novel, The Wonderful Wizard of Oz, the original material upon which many adaptations are based, is now 124 years old. That book was so immensely popular as was the Broadway adaptation in 1902 that Baum ended up writing 13 more Oz novels.
These books subsequently inspired many movies, TV shows, and plays. Yet one adaptation stands above the rest, with The Wizard of Oz from 1939 rightly regarded as one of the best movie musicals based on a book ever made. For many purveyors of great cinema, Victor Fleming's Technicolor dream of a film...

The popularity of early education videos on YouTube Shorts is no surprise. Some parents like to use YouTube as an automated babysitter, and when young kids get a hold of the Shorts feed, they tend to watch a lot of videos in rapid succession.
But even within that world, there are subdivisions taking shape.

Warner Bros. Discovery will give Max, its enhanced streaming service, its first outing in the Asia-Pacific region beginning next week in a partnership with Japan’s U-Next.
As in Europe and other territories where it has already launched, Max represents both a wider content offering to Japanese viewers than forerunner HBO and a technological upgrade. However, the Max app, which will offer even more functionality, is not yet being launched in the Japan market.
From Wednesday next week, Max on U-Next will be available as a branded environment, with its own user interface, within the Japanese streaming platform. It will offer more than 16,000 episodes of over 2,500 titles from Wbd’s entertainment brands, including HBO, Harry Potter, the DC universe, Warner Bros., Cartoon Network, Discovery Channel and Animal Planet.
The deal between the two groups also includes Wbd acquiring Japanese content in tandem with U-Next for distribution on Max globally.

Warner Bros. Discovery is shuttering its Boomerang streaming service. The Boomerang cable channel will live on.
Boomerang operations will cease on September 30; some of its programming will be integrated into Max, Wbd’s core streaming service. (There is already a decent amount of crossover to begin with.) And that’s exactly where Warner Bros. Discovery will send those Boomerang subscribers. Boomerang members will see their subscription automatically moved to Max’s ad-free tier with no change to their monthly price for a minimum of six months, a person with knowledge of the situation told IndieWire.
Until then, it’s a sweet deal: Boomerang cost $5.99 per month, Max’s ad-free plan is $16.99. Since everything (and we do mean everything) at Wbd is a financial decision, you better believe that $11/month won’t be left on the table for any longer than it feels it has to.

Warner Bros. Discovery is shuttering its Boomerang streaming service, a home for classic animated series and movies.
The streaming service will cease operations on Sept. 30, and its subscribers and some of its content will be folded into Max, Wbd’s flagship streaming platform. Boomerang’s linear channel will continue to operate on cable and satellite providers, where it’s in about 26 million homes.
Boomerang subscribers received a message from the streamer notifying them of the shutdown and that their subscriptions will be moved to Max’s ad-free tier “with no change to your subscription price until further notice.” That represents a bargain for Boomerang subscribers, who pay $6 a month for the service; Max’s ad-free plan costs $17 monthly.

It has only been a couple of months since the official release of MultiVersus from developer Player First Games, and it has brought with it plenty of iconic characters that pretty much nobody would have expected to see sharing a screen.

“Saturday Night Live” Weekend Update co-anchor Colin Jost — currently in Tahiti covering surfing (and injuring his toes) for NBC’s Summer Olympics coverage — has another new job: Host of “Pop Culture Jeopardy!”
The “Jeopardy!” spin-off, announced in May, will run on Amazon’s Prime Video and start production in August, presumably once Jost gets back from the islands. The series, which comes from Sony Pictures Television (and its game show division), is being billed as “the first ‘Jeopardy!’ series created exclusively for a major streaming service”.
“Colin’s sharp wit and intelligence epitomize ‘Pop Culture Jeopardy!,’” said Suzanne Prete, the president of game shows at Sony Pictures Television, said in a statement. “He’s smart and quick, like our contestants, and we know he’ll be able to keep up with them while making this new series his own. We could not be happier that he is joining us for this new journey.

Animation has always been a method of storytelling loved by many. It’s something new and different and looks unlike anything else you could see in the real world. This form has come a long way in the last hundred or so years. It was only 96 years ago that ‘Steamboat Willie’ came out and popularized sound cartoons, and look how far we’ve come since. Now, a lot of animation is computer generated, and with some of the technology that companies like Pixar use, it’s getting harder to distinguish animation from real life. So with that, I’d like to take a bit of a step back in time and focus on the cartoons from way back when. Things to do: Subscribe to The Hollywood Insider’s YouTube Channel, by clicking here. An embarrassing typo has tarnished the Kansas City Chiefs’ celebratory Super Bowl Lviii championship rings. The highly anticipated rings, designed to commemorate the team’s historic victory, have been found to feature an incorrect seeding label for one of their playoff opponents.
The rings, which boast an impressive display of 529 diamonds and 38 rubies totaling 14.8 carats, were meant to be a source of pride for the franchise and its passionate fanbase. Still, a closer inspection has revealed that the interior of the rings mistakenly lists the Miami Dolphins as the No. 7 seed when, in reality, they were the No. 6 seed.
This is not the first time the Chiefs have been on the receiving end of a typo-related mishap. The organization has faced similar issues in the past, but this particular oversight is sure to be a hard pill to swallow, as the rings are meant to be a lasting symbol of their championship triumph.

As the animation community deals with industry contraction, one force inspires more fear and uncertainty than any other: Artificial intelligence. The Annecy Festival will screen four works using AI after receiving dozens of submissions that used the technology.
Whether it’s concern that AI will make some animation jobs obsolete or replace humans altogether, there’s discussion about what it will mean not only for artistry but also workflow. Some see AI as a tool to be mastered and carefully applied as issues surrounding copyright, creation and overall use are sorted out. With all the questions AI raises, they view it as just another technological evolution. As one generation of artists had to contend with Photoshop and what it meant for digital imaging, this wave of artists will have to learn how to use AI.

Is it fair that some of television's most emotionally wrenching and nightmare-inducing moments came from supposedly light entertainment?
When we tune into a sitcom, cartoon, or low-conflict drama, are we expecting to be hit over the head with unspeakable tragedy and menace?
It's almost like biting into a Klondike bar and tasting spicy tobasco sauce instead.
Still, if you can memorably crush the audience's heart while still keeping with the show's spirit and tone, you can create television history.
Going through the list of sobs and shudders, I had to eliminate some classic TV moments because they were either "Goodbye Episodes" (and Goodbyes are just sad in general) or because they were on a show that wasn't exactly safe to begin with.
(Sorry, Roseanne, All in the Family, Scrubs, and M*A*S*H -- you were never light!)
Otherwise, here are ten of the heaviest moments from light entertainment,...

Back in November, Mark Hamill told fans at Fan Expo San Francisco that he would no longer be portraying the Clown Prince of Gotham.
Despite being considered by many to be the best Joker of all time, Hamill believed he just couldn't play the role unless it was opposite Kevin Conroy's Batman. Conroy, who voiced Bruce Wayne/Batman across several projects, passed away in November 2022.
But it seems there was a little caveat that allowed for Hamill to reprise the iconic villain role one final time in an upcoming game called MultiVersus. As it turns out, prior to his passing, Kevin Conroy also voiced Batman in the fighting game. It's perhaps for this reason that Hamill made an exception to his previous statement and returned to the role of Joker in the game.
For those unfamiliar, MultiVersus is a free-to-play platform fighter, in the same vein as Nintendo's Super Smash Bros.
