Following the success of their feature debut, the horror film Talk to Me, the directing duo of Danny and Michael Philippou signed on to make a new film adaptation of the Street Fighter video game franchise, started developing a Talk to Me sequel titled Talk 2 Me, and let it be known that they had already shot some sort of Talk to Me prequel (but it’s not clear if or when we’ll get to see that footage), had an action drama project they’d like to make, and also had a horror script called Bring Her Back that they wanted to get into production. They were so dedicated to getting Bring Her Back made that they dropped Street Fighter in favor of their horror movie, which started filming earlier this year. Now Michael Philippou has taken to social media to let his followers know that Bring Her Back...

The last film on that list is the one that’s going to be made first, and just last month we learned that two-time Oscar nominee Sally Hawkins of The Shape of Water and Blue Jasmine has signed on to star in Bring Her Back.

Danny and Michael Philippou, the breakout directors of last year’s box office horror hit “Talk to Me,” are re-teaming with A24 on their next horror film, an individual with knowledge of the project told IndieWire. And this time they’re being paired with a two-time Oscar nominee.
Sally Hawkins will star in “Bring Her Back” from the Philippous, who are writing and directing the original movie for A24. Danny and Michael Philippou are also re-teaming with the producers on “Talk to Me,” Causeway Films’ Samantha Jennings and Kristina Ceyton (“The Babadook”).
Plot details are being kept under wraps for “Bring Her Back,” but the film will begin production later this summer.
This would not be the first time Hawkins has starred in a horror film. Way back in 2007 she appeared in “The Killing Gene” alongside Stellan Skarsgård, Tom Hardy, and Selma Blair. The closest she’s gotten to the...

Following the success of Talk To Me, directors Danny & Michael Philippou will team up with A24 again on Bring Her Back, starring Sally Hawkins.
A24 hit gold with Talk To Me, Danny & Michael Philippou’s ridiculously popular horror film featuring a creepy hand and a bunch of teenagers playing with it. It doesn’t come as a surprise that the powerhouse studio wants to team up with the brothers again for what they’re hoping will be another horror sensation.
Deadline reports that Danny & Michael Philippou are now working on a film called Bring Her Back and Sally Hawkins will play the lead. Production is due to start this summer.
No plot details as of yet, but that’s to be expected. A24 will want to keep those close to the chest until the film is nearing completion. There’s no release date either.
This is pure speculation, but could...

We know for sure that Danny and Michael Philippou, the sibling directing duo behind the Australian horror film Talk to Me (read our review at This Link, watch our interview with the directors in the embed above) are going to be making a sequel to that movie. The film not only racked up over $90 million at the global box office, it also earned praise from the likes of Steven Spielberg, Peter Jackson, Jordan Peele, George Miller, and Ari Aster… so it was no surprise when A24 announced they had given a greenlight to the a follow-up, titled Talk 2 Me. But while the sequel moves ahead, one person who still doesn’t know if they’re going to be involved with it is Talk to Me star Sophie Wilde.
Talk to Me marked the feature directorial debut of the Philippou brothers, who have a following of over 6 million subscribers on their YouTube channel RackaRacka.

A24 hit big with their acclaimed horror movie Talk to Me earlier this year, which is now available on Digital outlets with a 4K and Blu-ray release set for October 3, 2023.
In celebration of the film’s Digital release today, A24 has also put up for grabs a screen-accurate replica of the “Party Hand” from Talk to Me, and it’s available now in their shop!
In the film, the mysterious prop is said to be the severed, embalmed hand of a powerful medium, and it’s used to conjure spirits. The basic gist is that you hold the hand and speak the words “talk to me” aloud, inviting in whatever the hell decides to come through from the other side. From there, you can let go of the hand or let the spirit inside of you. The latter option is essentially the film’s unique version of getting high, becoming...

Earlier this month, we reported that Danny and Michael Philippou, the directors of A24's low-budget Australian horror sensation "Talk To Me," had already shot a prequel to the movie based around the character Duckett, who is the focal point of the movie's opening sequence. Some got the impression that the prequel was a full-length feature film. That wouldn't be too far-fetched, given that last year director Ti West revealed he'd secretly shot a prequel to his slasher movie "X," and "Pearl" landed in theaters just a few months later.
Now, the Brothers Philippou have offered some clarification in the October 2023 issue of Empire, explaining that the prequel is actually a "series of clips following Duckett's story, that were designed to be uploaded anonymously online. It's not a movie, by any stretch."
