Life has found a way to revive the "Jurassic World" franchise. Three years after the release of 2022's "Dominion," which wrapped up director Colin Trevorrow's trilogy, Universal Pictures is bringing back the dinos for a new adventure with a new cast, telling a new story. We now have our first concrete details regarding the film, which is officially titled "Jurassic World Rebirth." Universal Pictures' new Jurassic World movie has been filming since mid-June (it's reportedly wrapped in Thailand and will soon move to Malta), and thanks to a reliable source, we may finally have an official title for the latest entry in the dino-disaster franchise.

We had heard that the movie was being referred to internally as Jurassic City, but according to Daniel Richtman, the official title is Jurassic World: Rebirth.

We've since learned that this title has indeed been trademarked.

Back in January, Universal Pictures made a surprising announcement: not only did they have a new Jurassic World movie in development, but the screenplay – by original Jurassic Park screenwriter David Koepp, returning to the franchise for the first time since The Lost World: Jurassic Park – had already been written, and the movie was on the fast track to production. Soon after, we learned that it’s aiming for a July 2, 2025 theatrical release. Assembled in a mad scramble, the movie is now filming with Godzilla director Gareth Edwards at the helm… and while a title has never been officially announced (we’ve heard that people involved with the production were referring to it as Jurassic World 4 and/or Jurassic City), the title might have just been given away by trademark filings. Colin Trevorrow’s Jurassic World trilogy came to its conclusion in 2022 with Jurassic World: Dominion. It didn’t take long for Universal to move forward with a follow-up despite the arc for those characters coming to an end. Production has just taken off and the new Jurassic World movie will be filming in Thailand through July 16th, with locations including Bangkok, Trang, Phang Nga, Phuket, Chiang Mai and the Huai To Waterfall, which is within the Khao Phanom Bencha National Park in Krabi province. About three months after the stories first began to circulate, Scarlett Johansson has confirmed that she’s to star in the next Jurassic Park film – the first since 2022’s Jurassic World: Dominion.

After a couple of far-from-perfect sequels, the Jurassic franchise was rebooted with Jurassic World in 2015. Chris Pratt and Bryce Dallas Howard were chosen to lead the series, with only one movie set in the newly minted "Jurassic World" theme park before it all came crashing down. 

The trilogy, which also included Fallen Kingdom and Dominion, was a financial success for Universal Pictures, with all three instalments grossing over $1 billion each. However, Dominion's takings dropped significantly from its predecessors and reviews were not kind.

Glen Powell may have a lock on a slew of beloved 1970s and 1980s franchise reboots, but the actor almost traveled to a galaxy far, far away a decade ago.

Powell told GQ UK that he was amid the final casting round to play Han Solo in “Star Wars” prequel film “Solo” circa 2018.

“I can joke about it now, [but] I blew that final audition,” Powell admitted.

Twin Peaks is coming back. Those are five words David Lynch fans having been waiting to hear for a long time. On Monday, Showtime announced they are reviving the ABC cult classic for a nine episode run in 2016, according to The Hollywood Reporter. Both of the show's original writers, Lynch and Mark Frost, are back to pen the new season, with Lynch also signed on to direct the reboot. Now that the news is officially out, Twin Peaks devotees are wondering where the revival will pick up. Automatic Entertainment is introducing buyers to Jurassic City [pictured] at Filmart.

Written and directed by Sean Cain, the film centres on a black-ops unit who attempt to subdue thousands of raptors after a top-secret laboratory is breached. It stars newcomers Dana Melanie, Kayla Carlyle and Sofia Mattsson, alongside genre actors Ray Wise and Vernon Wells.

Also on Automatic’s slate is Tim McCann’s White Rabbit, starring True Blood’s Sam Trammell, Britt Robertson, Nick Krause and Ryan Lee. The intense drama follows a bullied high school student’s descent into violence.

2013 SXSW title Holy Ghost People, American Muscle and Ninja Apocalypse round off Automatic’s slate.

With filmmaker Sean Cain having recently wrapped his "sorority girls vs. dinosaurs" flick Jurassic Block, we sat down to chat with the affable writer and director regarding the project. Read on for more, including several stills and a look behind the scenes!

Written and directed by Cain (whose previous genre features include Silent Night, Zombie Night and Breath of Hate), Jurassic Block is produced by Anthony Fankhuaser and J.J. Kim, with FX by Joseph Lawson. It stars Ray Wise (Jeepers Creepers 2), Kevin Gage (Heat), Robert Lasardo (Death Race), Vernon Wells (The Road Warrior), Dana Melanie, Kayla Carlyle, Jack Forcinito (Silent Night, Zombie Night), Sofia Mattsson, Monique Parent, Timothy Muskatell, Vanessa Johnston and Bill Millsap (“Hatfields & McCoys”).

“Originally it was a much different concept,” Cain told us of the beginnings of Jurassic Block. “I had pitched the producers initially with my idea of basically combining [the premises of] Attack the Block with The Raid Redemption.
