As expected in a film starring Sangram Singh, the film is sporty and carries a positive message for the young. Says Sangram, "I play a sports coach to 16-17 year old kids. Mumbai, Dec 31: Episodic film "David" or heart-wrenching mother-daughter drama "Mai" or rare medical thriller "Ankur Arora Murder Case" are some of the cinematically superlative films, but they failed to click at the box office.
Here is a list of 10 such films that deserved better viewership and appreciation than what they got:
1. "David": Bejoy Nambiar's second feature film after the warmly received "Shaitaan", was eagerly awaited. Tragically David about three protagonists with the same name, just didn't gel with audiences in spite of a brilliant cast and deft direction. Episodic films just don't work. Each of the protagonists.

It was stated in this column last week that neither ‘Fukrey’ nor ‘Ankur Arora Murder Case’ would set the box office on fire, former would take a better opening than latter and ‘Yeh Jawaani Hai Deewani’ would continue to register best footfalls. This is exactly what happened as it was the Karan Johar-Ayan Mukerji-Ranbir Kapoor-Deepika Padukone-Pritam affair that resulted in all the fire that was being created at the box office, as far as Bollywood films are concerned. From Hollywood, it was ‘Man of Steel’ that did better, though just about.
