Alpha 8 crash lands on Earth, utterly disoriented and promptly captured, landing her in a top-secret facility. It is within these confines that she develops an unlikely bond with Michael, the researcher assigned to communicate with her and decipher her intentions in regard to Earth.

Keeping true to her mission Alpha 8 uses Michael's wedding picture to morph into an exact replica of his wife to develop a better connection with him. Not realizing how weird that is. When Michael is pulled off the project, she escapes the facility, finds his home and body swaps with his wife Larson. Her mission is to understand the intricacies of parenting and truly become a part of a family so she can take that knowledge back home.

As one might expect, things don't go according to plan. Alpha 8 commits numerous blunders while earnestly trying every piece of advice she finds in parenting books. She cleans at a supernatural pace, organizes everything down to the socks, assists with homework like a seasoned professor, and cooks with the finesse of a master chef.

She's even killing it at Arden's job. She embodies a true Supermom.

As you can imagine, things don't go as planned. She makes a lot of mistakes. Tries everything she reads in all the motherhood and parenting books.

However, this newfound perfection comes at a cost. Because "real mom" Larson, is queen of take-out, doesn't fold laundry, and would choose a cluttered hour over missing time with her family.

To nobody's surprise, the kids notice the changes right away.

While two of the kids love mom's new attitude, one of them is on a mission to uncover the real reason behind mom's new outlook on life. And what he discovers shocks them all.

She's an alien from another planet! So he sets out on an adventure to get his "real" mom back. Yes, the alien tags along too.

Throughout the series, Alpha 8 discovers what takes some parents a lifetime to realize. Parenting is about balance. Kids will still love you, even if you are not the perfect mom.
