I spent $4.99 on this film, and that is the ONLY reason I finished it. It was not horrible; I have seen far worse. The acting was decent. But the story itself felt contrived and the ending was easily predictable. The characters made stupid decisions, even for a horror film; decisions that were not believable.
I liked the family. I really thought that they did a good job of letting the viewer get to know the family and consequentally feel empathy for the family... but they wasted too much time in doing so.
And the story itself is dragged out for no other reason, it seems, than to be a full length feature film. And at no point do we get to see the demon; we barely even see any action. This can be good in some movies, but not in a found footage horror film.
I can tell that they put a lot of work into the film, but it still sucks. I hate to say it, but it's true.
My advice: if you really want to see it for yourself, wait until it is on a free platform. It is an uncorked production, and a crappy one at that... it WILL be available to watch for free soon, I an certain.

What I liked the most was the way two of the characters the little girl and the dog were developed. Honestly they managed to convey a variety of emotions in me I felt like I connected with their story in a way I didn't expect.
I also really liked the plot especially the ending It was so interesting that I think I had an anxiety attack I could feel my hands sweating and my heart racing.
Also, what caught my attention about the movie is that it's different from the other found footage films I've seen in recent years I was surprised by the variety and originality. Those who love the genre know what I'm talking about these past few years, we've seen almost the same thing in every film in the genre. There's been little variety or rather innovation. But its name was mormo succeeded and finally brought something new to the screen, something many of us were hoping for.
Highly recommended for horror lovers like me!

When I watched the movie I honestly didnt know what to expect, but I must say it pleasantly surprised me. From the very beginning the movie creates an unsettling atmosphere that feels completely different from most conventional horror films. There are several moments where I genuinely felt fear the kind of fear that gets under your skin and doesn't let go
What impressed me the most was how effectively they used psychological horror It's clear there was a deliberate intention to play with the viewer's mind, and this is reflected in every detail, from the narrative to the sound and visual effects It's not your typical easy or predictable scare it's a type of horror that leaves you thinking and feeling uneasy even after the credits roll.
That night I honestly couldn't sleep well my mind kept going back to certain scenes and the implicit message of the movie I think thats what makes it so special it's not just different but it leaves a lasting impression If you're looking for something out of the ordinary that truly makes you feel, this movie is for you Highly recommended!

Its Name Was Mormo is a standout in the horror genre, directed by Mark Andrew Bowers. The film cleverly blends found-footage techniques with Greek mythology to tell a chilling story of a family tormented by Mormo, a demon from ancient lore. The narrative follows the family as their lives spiral into chaos, with tension heightened by supernatural occurrences and the raw, documentary-style cinematography.
The film's authenticity is enriched by its unique production. Bowers' real-life family stars, and their personal experiences during filming-such as eerie sounds and unexplained phenomena-add an unsettling layer. This unconventional approach blurs the line between reality and fiction, immersing the audience in the terror.
Thematically, the movie delves into the fragility of family bonds under duress and the dangers of confronting the unknown. Symbolism, particularly drawn from Greek mythology, is woven throughout, creating a rich, multi-layered experience.
Praised for its originality and atmospheric tension, Its Name Was Mormo is a must-watch for fans of psychological and mythological horror.

The film has many remarkable aspects but what stood out to me the most was the use of sound. It creates an atmosphere that truly pulls you in every noise every whisper is there to send shivers down your spine, and it absolutely succeeds. The performance of the little girl is incredible. She has such a natural presence that everything happening around her feels even more real. Mia carried her role in an amazing way. From my perspective, she conveyed innocence with a hint of mystery.
And I can't forget to mention the dog I LOVED the presence of the dog (Romeo) I feel like it added a touch of realism and emotional connection that I didn't expect It was a simple but effective detail that made the scenes feel more human and relatable.
I love the found footage genre and honestly this is a film that's definitely worth watching.

Listen in closely to the sound design and you'll be surprised. This film is one of a kind, a real family buying their first home, bringing home a puppy... filming their memories until they find an artifact. This one stood out for me as a hit after the first 15 minutes I knew it wouldn't be the same as the other thrown together found footage films. Its not a 10/10, but it's something I would recommend to couples looking for a scary watch. I was impressed with the families connection. The characters are likable and everything else right now seems very samey samey this stands out from the crowd in a good way.
