Days of our Lives spoilers for the two weeks of December 2-December 13 tease the returns that keep on coming as Salem bids farewell to Doug.
Salem Says Goodbye
There has been a rollercoaster of emotions lately in Salem between heartwarming returns and a heartbreaking farewell. While Eli (Lamon Archey), Lani (Sal Stowers), Jack (Matthew Ashford), and Jennifer (Melissa Reeves) all returned for Thanksgiving, things took a devastating turn when they learned of Doug’s (the late Bill Hayes) passing.
On the other side of Salem, Rafe (Galen Gering) announced he’d be going back to his roots in the Pi business at Black Patch, and his first assignment is finding the identity of the new Lady Whistleblower, who has spilled spoilers about Body & Soul to their readers. That was just one of the many ways the soap felt cursed, with others being sent poisoned cupcakes and Johnny’s (Carson Boatman...

It has surpassed the opening-day collections of Soul and Elemental. For the uninitiated, Soul was released in 2020 and directed by Pete Doctor. Meanwhile, Peter Sohn’s Elemental came out in 2023. All the movies were produced by Walt Disney Pictures. The 2024 sequel is, however, behind Inside Out 2’s release-day numbers. There’s nothing more fun for soap fans than watching their favorite characters partake in annual traditions – it makes viewers feel more connected to the show and almost like a part of the family.
One interesting Thanksgiving tradition on General Hospital (Gh) is how every year, despite good intentions, the wealthiest family in town – the Quartermaines – always end up ordering pizza takeout instead of having a turkey with all the fixings.
During the Tuesday, November 26 episode, Days of Our Lives (Dool) poked a little fun by throwing some shade at both Gh and the Qs.
Days Of Our Lives Spoilers – Dool’s Wally Kurth Not Only Plays Justin Kiriakis But Also Gh’s Ned Quartermaine

There’s nothing more badass than Soul Reapers in Tite Kubo’s series. Decades back, Kubo gave us some of the iconic characters through his manga. The anime took it to a whole new level with its soundtrack and impeccable visuals.
Thousand-Year Blood War did the unthinkable by notching it up. The sequel gave us a preview of some of the legendary Gotei 13 members. This also leaves the mangaka with several ideas for the franchise.

The original 13 court guards are mentioned in a flashback. The scene is nothing short of iconic. From Unohana to Yamamoto, the franchise could achieve a breakthrough with a prequel to the original Captains.
Fearless and ruthless, the captains redefined strength and badassery. To say the least, the prequel would be a rager if Kubo were to explore the uncharted lore and backstories of the characters.

It’s Thanksgiving, a time to count your blessings. At Soap Hub, we are incredibly thankful for these soap opera moments.
Giving Thanks
I’m Rachel Dillin, Editor-in-Chief of Soap Hub, and I’m so thankful for the news of the first new soap opera in 25 years. Anticipation is high for Beyond the Gates, and I can’t wait to watch from day one. With a great cast and a wonderful writers’ room, this daytime drama is sure to be one for the ages.
Additionally, I’m so happy for villains like Sheila Carter (Kimberlin Brown) and Luna (Lisa Yamada) on The Bold and the Beautiful. Speaking of villains, it’s been a great year for them on The Young and the Restless, with Cameron (Linden Ashby) making an unexpected reappearance. Plus, I’m thrilled to see Jordan (Colleen Zenk) and Ian (Ray Wise) back in Genoa City.

Remember when Rukia Kuchiki introduced the audience to the world of Bleach by painting the Soul Society as a utopia; a peaceful afterlife for departed souls? Well, as the series progressed, nothing but cracks began to appear in this idealized image. And now, by the time of Bleach: Thousand-Year Blood War, it’s evident that Tite Kubo has fed one of the blatant lies to us through this idealized image of Soul Society.

The Thousand-Year Blood War arc doesn’t just peel back the layers of Soul Society’s flaws — it exposes the entire system as inherently corrupt and unjust. With the arrival of Yhwach in the story’s premise, the flaws of this fabricated world are now more visible, and the peaceful utopia is nowhere to be found.

Pete Docter has been responsible for some of Pixar’s greatest hits, be it Monster’s Inc. or Inside Out. However, the director also had a hand in Up, which remains one of the most emotionally charged films that Pixar has put out.

When Mike Jones first embarked on his screenwriting career in the 1990s, he never would have guessed that he’d end up at Pixar. But the “Soul” co-writer and creator of the upcoming “Inside Out” spin-off “Dream Productions” is certainly happy that things worked out the way they did.
At IndieWire’s inaugural Future of Filmmaking summit in Los Angeles on November 2, Jones sat down with IndieWire editor-in-chief Dana Harris-Bridson for a wide-ranging conversation about his one-of-a-kind career. Like many a New York filmmaker in the 1990s, Jones began his journey with his sights set on one goal: writing a movie that premiered at the Sundance Film Festival.
“I had a bottle of champagne in my refrigerator that was purely going to be opened when I got into Sundance. Early on, when I was writing scripts, I go, ‘I am writing a script for Sundance. It’s going to get made.

When Bleach made its exciting comeback in 2022, everyone talked about the fan reactions to the series. However, what went unnoticed for the most part was how the cast and crew felt about returning to Bleach after a decade. Opposed to how fans experience anime characters from a far-off perspective, the voice actors actually get to live them.

On Friday, Nov. 8, Oscar contender “Challengers” received a Grammy nomination for Best Score Soundtrack For Visual Media. This specific music category is awarded to the composers of an original score — in this case, Trent Reznor and Atticus Ross — that is created specifically for film or television or other visual media. The Amazon MGM Studios production is also currently predicted to receive an Oscar bid for Best Score, and all of this attention could certainly boost its chances.
The other four nominees at the 2025 Grammys for Best Score Soundtrack For Visual Media are “American Fiction” by Laura Karpman, “The Color Purple” by Kris Bowers, “Dune: Part Two” by Hans Zimmer, and “Shōgun” by Nick Chuba, Atticus Ross, and Leopold Ross. Yes, that means Atticus Ross is competing against himself.
Because of the different eligibility periods for the Grammys and the Oscars, “American Fiction” and “The Color Purple” actually competed at last year’s Academy Awards.

It’s been a banner year for animated movies, with artists using the medium to tell stories about robots, cats, snails and the full spectrum of human emotion. These films are just as bold and boundary pushing as the dramas, musicals and historical epics that are seen as top contenders for Oscars. Yet they aren’t getting the same level of attention from the pundit crowd.
Well, if there was ever a time for things to change, it’s now. Heavyweights DreamWorks Animation and Pixar have launched awards campaigns for “The Wild Robot” and “Inside Out 2,” which are virtual locks to nab best animated feature nominations. But, these movies also aim to break into major categories, notably best picture. And you know what? It shouldn’t be an either/ or scenario. Why not both?

Not many people have mourned 3D cinema’s second waning. Yet, every now and then, the old parlor trick threatens to capture the imagination. I can think of two films in the last few years that have done such: the first cost around $400M, made about six times that at the box office, and took place on Pandora; the second is titled Twittering Soul and is the first 3D film ever made in Lithuania. It’s set in a misty rural landscape in the late 1800s, a pre-Soviet time in northeastern Europe that cinema rarely depicts. Amongst its tapestry of folklorish characters is a feudal lord with an interest in photography, which he views by holding a candle behind the image, bringing into focus this film’s visual layers. While watching, I was reminded of the doubled-image technique of stereoscopic photography that went out-of-fashion sometime in the middle of the...

A Disney / Pixar and Dreamworks Animation key animator who worked for years at the studios has been sentenced to 25 years in prison for sex crimes against young girls. The charges included “complicity in repeated rapes and sexual assaults on minors, human trafficking, and child pornography offenses.”
All his “offenses” were alleged to have occurred between 2012 and 2021 while he lived in France and the United States.
Bolhem Bouchib, 59, was placed on France’s sex offender registry in 2014 after sexually assaulting his partner’s eight-year-old daughter. He was later arrested in 2021 and has remained in prison since his arrest.
Somehow Bouchib continued to work for American animation studios.
Bouchib worked on big hits like “Hercules,” “Lilo and Stitch,” “Ratatouille,” “Up,” and “The Incredibles” before he was added to the sex offender registry. However, he continued to work on Disney and Pixar films, including “Soul,” “Incredibles 2,” “Luca,” and “Elemental” after he was on the registry for years.

IndieWire’s Future of Filmmaking Summit Celebrated Those Who Adapt Without Compromising What Matters
When IndieWire Editor-in-Chief Dana Harris-Bridson took the stage to open IndieWire’s inaugural Future of Filmmaking summit, she quoted a George Bernard Shaw passage that could have easily been written about this specific moment in film history: “Those who cannot change their minds cannot change anything.”
Fortunately, the timeless quote did not describe any of the summit attendees, who filled the room at Nya West in Los Angeles on a Saturday morning to learn where the entertainment industry might go next. From pitching with AI to replicating the theatrical experience in digital formats, the day was filled with conversations about new filmmaking developments that would have seemed unthinkable even a decade ago. The rich discussion and boundless enthusiasm for movies that filled the room made one thing clear: the road ahead might be uncertain, but the film industry contains more than enough human passion to light the way.

Venom: The Last Dance Box Office (China): Beats Avatar’s 2021 Re-Release Numbers (Photo Credit – Instagram)
Venom: The Last Dance seems to have found its place, and it is in China. People are enjoying the comic book action movie at the theatres as it continues to dominate at #1. It has beaten James Cameron’s helmed Avatar’s 2021 re-release collection and is on its way to surpassing Despicable Me 4, Deadpool & Wolverine, Oppenheimer and Aquaman and the Lost Kingdom. Scroll below for the deets.
The industry thought it would suffer the same fate as Joker: Folie a Deux, but it seems China might save its a*s. Although it might not experience the same success as its predecessors, it may not be a big failure like the Joker 2. It is potentially the last film in the Venom franchise; however, like every other Marvel movie, it too had end-credit scenes,...

Horror films still offer a path to profitability on low budgets that no other genre can claim, which is why even the most squeamish filmmakers should celebrate the remarkable box-office success demonstrated by Damien Leone’s gory saga of the depraved Art the Clown. The “Terrifier” franchise began in 2016 with a $35,000 budget — but the series quickly developed a passionate following for its stomach-churning practical effects and the instantly iconic villain. Eight years later and “Terrifier 3” became the #1 movie in America with a $27 million opening weekend.
Much of the credit goes to Cineverse, the distributor that has steadily expanded the series’ reach. Anyone who wants to learn from the “Terrifier 3” phenomenon won’t want to miss IndieWire’s Future of Filmmaking Summit on November 2. On their panel “Turning Low-Budget Horror Into Box-Office Hits,” Cineverse executive director of acquisitions Brandon Hill and Chief Content Officer Yolanda Macias will join IndieWire...

“Show, don’t tell” is always great advice to filmmakers, but it usually refers to just what’s onscreen. It’s good advice for filmmakers during the pitching stage as well, as producers are looking for ever more details about the projects they’ll be investing in. Visualizing your film or TV project as much as you can in advance, giving as close an approximation as possible to what will be onscreen, has never been more important. And IndieWire has you covered with our “Pitch Your Project: Why Producers Now Expect More” panel at the Future of Filmmaking Summit in Los Angeles November 2.

When people ask “where is the film industry going?”, they usually mean in general terms. Increasingly, though, that question centers literally on location: Where are film and TV productions shooting? Last week, FilmLA president Paul Audley sounded the alarm that there were even fewer shooting days in Los Angeles this summer than there were during the strike summer of 2023.
Audley will join IndieWire’s “Filming Outside Hollywood” panel at our Future of Filmmaking Summit in Los Angeles on November 2 to discuss that startling statistic and why productions have been not only leaving L.A. but also the U.S., and what it will take to lure them back.

Could “Saturday Night” make the Best Picture Oscar lineup? What if Denzel Washington takes home No. 3 for “Gladiator II”? Gold Derby editors and experts Christopher Rosen and Joyce Eng are here to answer your burning questions of the week.
“Saturday Night” hardly lit the box office on fire last week after expanding into wide release, but could the Jason Reitman film resonate more with the industry? It’s a nostalgia-fueled crowd-pleaser with a crackling ensemble about an American pop culture institution. Plus, people in the industry know a thing or two about the stress and pressure of putting on a live TV and running up against red tape while trying to execute your vision. But could its inherent American-ness hinder it with international voters?

Performance capture is one of the most exciting new tools available to filmmakers this century. But, if you’re an up and coming cinematic storyteller, how can you use it in your own filmmaking? IndieWire’s Future of Filmmaking Summit, taking place in Los Angeles on November 2 has you covered.
We are honored to welcome the team behind this year’s blockbuster smash, “Kingdom of the Planet of the Apes,” for a dynamic panel about the ins-and-outs of performance capture. At the heart of the conversation will be how they used these innovative tools to elicit profound emotion, to create deep connections between the film’s characters and the audience. Roger Ebert always said movies are an empathy machine: The performance capture artistry in “Kingdom of the Planet of the Apes” showed how true that is.

Of all the below-the-line categories at the Oscars, Best Original Score is the most difficult to predict early on due to the finicky nature of the music branch of the academy. This third installment of the wholesome teen romance offers plenty of warmth and feels profoundly relatable in its exploration of heavy yet honest themes. Viewers first met the love story between Charlie Spring and Nick Nelson back in Season 1, which rapidly had us rooting for these adorable schoolmates.
Their chemistry shone so brightly that it was easy to get attached to their burgeoning feelings despite their initial uncertainty. Season 2 took us alongside the pair on vacation as they grew closer, though many storylines were left on a cliffhanger.
Now in Season 3 of the Netflix series adaptation of Alice Oseman’s graphic novels, we catch up with Charlie, Nick, and their endearing friends in the aftermath of senior prom, facing new challenges together. While Nick and Charlie remain elated in their relationship, cracks begin to show in Charlie’s mental well-being that threaten to spiral.
Elsewhere in their circle, other characters must wrestle with identity,...

‘Days of Our Lives’ (Dool) spoilers for Tuesday, October 1 reveal Bobbie Lockhart (Judi Evans) gets bad news. Meanwhile, the Body and Soul team try to keep things moving. Plus, Stephanie Johnson (Abigail Klein) opens up to Jada Hunter (Elia Cantu). Here’s what you need to know.
‘Days of Our Lives’ Spoilers For Tuesday, October 1: Goodbye…
First, ‘Days of Our Lives’ spoilers reveal some confusion on our part. See, Kate Dimera (Lauren Koslow) wasn’t happy about Hattie Adams (Deidre Hall) issuing that ultimatum.
In fact, she told Abe Carver (James Reynolds) it would set a bad precedent if they let her get away with that. But, we saw Bonnie’s character is being killed off anyway. Poor Leo Stark (Greg Rikaart) had to break the news.
The drama won’t end there, though. Bonnie’s week gets worse as Hattie rubs in what’s happened. We can just picture it now.
