Before I start, do not worry for I will not give away any spoilers. The best way to watch this episode is to not know a thing about what's going to happen and just let your mind go with the episode
I personally see this as the best Walking Dead episode to date. Even better than Shane's transformation in Season 2 and i know that is saying a lot and this is because of the emotions, the unexpected and just the outright confrontation that makes you root like you've never rooted
This is my first ever review and I just wanted to share my views on an absolute, brilliant mid-season finale. ROLL ON FEBRUARY

I rarely rate episodes individually but when this episode finished I just needed to come and leave a 10/10 to this masterpiece. An episode full of emotions and feeling. I could watch this episode once and again, it's so well done. Probably the best episode of TWD until now.

Holy.. mother of god..
I have no idea where to begin! So much just happened so fast that I am struggling to comprehense it! This was insane! Very few episodes of TV can deliver at this level! Not only PEAK Walking Dead, but also some of the best TV!
This was an emotional gut punch of chaos! I felt like my heart got stapped over and over! You wanted to feel something, but there was no time! It was just like this world.. no time to mourn! You would fear for everynone! Every bullet and explosion was stressfull! No breaks as the characters struggled! Only when the episode ended.. you could allow yourself to realize what you just saw!
The action and directing was the BEST! Perhaps some of the best action of the entire show!
Ricks epic monologue was some of the best! Perfectly capturing how humans have lost their humanity in this world, and that it is never to late to turn back! Its your choice to keep your humanity or not!
This was some of the BEST this show has delivered and will forever be remembered!

Too Far Gone is in my opinion one of the best episodes in The Walking Dead. Some people argue about that Rick's group lose their home too much and that is true but you have to see the reality behind it, the Farm got overrun whilst people destroyed the Prison as unfortunately people and this case Philip 'The Governor' wants revenge and a safe place to live and we know people can be dangerous.
This episode has some of the best acting of the season, Andrew Lincoln and David Morrissey has the strongest performances and it should be them who shine as it's ultimately between their characters. Like how the focus is against Rick and Negan in the All Out War story arc. We know from the previous season and this that Rick was almost too far gone and Philip is too far gone, so the showdown between them is on a physical and psychological level and it makes for some magnificent drama.
From the technical stand point of the episode, it was wonderfully directed by Ernest R. Dickerson. He's one of those directors that always does a great job and captures the true vision of what The Walking Dead should be, he has an eye for the story and script. Whilst Michael E. Satrazemis was the cinematography of this episode and it was nicely handled. So many nice and great shots! The editing was also fantastic, it flowed so well. The different perspectives and all the action. Well done. The mud zombie, just wow. Greg Nicotero continues to create some fascinating zombies. The whole makeup and special effects department did an excellent job.
This has to be on the top five best mid-season finales if not on top three, it's an episode you will never forget, it's memorable in that way, from who it was that died and the how action packed it was. There's good and bad action but the best is meaningful and impactful, this was meaningful action that has consequences for each single character. What a superb mid-season finale.

Had heard nothing but great things about 'The Walking Dead' from friends and IMDb reviewers. It took a while to get round to watching, both from being busy and also not being sure whether it would be my cup of tea. Finally getting round to it a few years ago and slowly working my way through it, having had a very long to watch and review list, 'The Walking Dead' turned out to be very much my cup of tea and as good as the hype made it out to be, have found it extremely addictive.
All the previous Season 4 episodes were for me very good to great, though the two previous Governor-centric episodes were somewhat divisive here. "Too Far Gone" is easily one of Season 4's very best and one of the best of the show overall, a return to the tense, action-packed and gutsy kind of episode instead of the quieter action-light kind of episode. It is yet again a strong reminder of how Seasons 1-5 of 'The Walking Dead' to me were absolutely brilliant and seeing the show in its full glory days (Season 6 was uneven, Season 7 was a huge disappointment and am still debating whether to watch Season 8). It is as emotional, complex and as tense as one would expect, at the same time it has adrenaline and guts.
It still shocks me at how an intelligent, well-made (so much so that it is easy to mistake it for a film) show about zombies could be made when so many films have tried and failed abysmally to do so.
Like all the episodes of the show, "Too Far Gone" is incredibly well made in the production values, with gritty and audacious production design, photography of almost cinematic quality, effects that look good, have soul and are not overused or abused and pretty frightening make-up. The music is haunting and affecting, having presence but never being too intrusive.
The writing is intelligent and thought-provoking, not as talky as some of the previous episodes, with lots of tension and emotional resonance and shows signs of character complexity and multiple layer storytelling. The more eventful parts are thrilling and terrifying as well as uncompromising, lots of adrenaline and guts.
Appreciated the ever strong and still progressing story, where a lot happens and full of different strands without being confused or over-stuffed, and character building, which the episode has a bigger emphasis on, and that the pace is rarely dull or rushed, with a taut intensity in the more tense parts. The character writing and the character interactions are what is particularly great here, Herschel and the Governor especially well done.
Everything is nicely paced without rushing through the more important parts, much of it being very taut. The world building is already stunningly immersive and effective. Direction is smart and atmospheric while the show throughout has been strongly acted. Particularly David Morrissey, Scott Wilson and Andrew Lincoln.
Concluding, simply brilliant and one of the season and show's best. 10/10 Bethany Cox

This season of the walking dead has been the best so far, I've enjoyed all of the previous seasons but this one takes the cake! For anyone who likes action, drama, suspense and of course zombies you will defiantly enjoy this season! And the walking dead in general! so don't let the uptight haters who want everything to be perfect deter you!
Now A quick review on episode 8 "too far gone" il start by saying this is the best episode of the walking dead yet, it was simply amazing it's what the people wanted from the season 3 finale but we didn't get but boy am I glad they left it until now, there's was times in this episode where I well and truly didn't know what was going to happen it really did keep you on your toes and let you know that no one is safe at anytime! There were a few predictable moments but It still kept you guessing. I had goosebumps all the way through the second half of the episode and I won't lie I did shed a tear which goes to show the emotion in this episode! It's an end of a era and the start of something new, I will be chomping at the bit to find out what happens next... 10 out of 10!

A tank needs a 6 people crew to move and fire looool You think a tank gonna take a prison ? Go inside it's done for the tank. You think the Germans could take a neighborhood with one tank. Just wait them inside the prison and all hand to hand combat. The stupidest decision is to have a giant building as we have seen and go outside to fight lol Fake facts: the governor was a prison director before so I he wanted to get back there, it only got him 2 camps of people dead for no success... way to care of your people. And people don't be a sheep... if the guy is a psycho just put a bullet in his head and don't try to save him and deal with his problems.

This is my 1st ever review in IMDb...I would consider this episode to be one of the best so far in this series...lot of twists...it indirectly says that no character is permanent..thats the thing that keeps Walking Dead a class apart from other series...if you think its high time this series needs a twist or a change(from the last couple of episodes) then this is it...of course it has a few loop holes here and there(as we know nothing is perfect)..but its these kind of episodes that keep the story and our interests alive !!! of course its going to be a mix of emotions for sure...I have to say that the pillar of support for Season4 has been the background score...this episode is no exception...waiting for Feb 2014 !!!

Holy crap. What did I just watch?? A very good episode. I love David Morrisey, the perfect horrible nut case that he plays has been a continuously well made and written character. This whole episode was inevitable, suspenseful and a perfect instalment in the series. Brilliant !

What a mid season finale.
Plot In A Paragraph: As Daryl finds out about what went down with Carol. The Governor convinces his new friends that it is in their best interests to take over the prison and if needed, use force to do so. Not everyone is comfortable with that approach, but go along with the majority. The Governor and his crew appear at the prison and he has two massive bargaining chips with him. (Herschel and Michonne are his prisoners) He tells Rick to be out by sundown. Rick tries to reason with him, but The Governor is unwilling to listen. In the ensuing battle, their are casualties on both sides.
I'm gutted about a major characters death, they will be missed,The entire end credits, plus various production company logo animations, are played in utter silence is very fitting.
I'm also still upset about the Carol situation, hopefully she will come back, and be reunited with her pal Daryl. If it were not for the two episodes about The Governor, Thai would have been a flawless first half to the season.

This was the BEST-EST Episode I have ever seen in my whole life so far!!!!!!!!!OMG....OMG!!!!Just can't find out what was missing in this EPIC episode.Thrill....Drama....Action....Suspense....Shocks....Emotions. The Best way indeed to watch this episode is not to involve yourself in any....ANY kind of spoiler!!!!!Then watch it in a closed room with no interruption till the 45 minutes. From the first minute to the last, your eyes will be totally popped out towards the screen. And I guarantee that a few scenes will just ascend your tear level in the eyes.An episode with an extreme level of scenes and the losses which one can't easily bear!!!!!But who are the MAJOR ones we will not see any more.....The Best Answer is to watch the 8th episode of this tremendous season of THE WALKING DEAD!!!!!!
