Nearly three years after the death of Mark Lanegan, the beloved grunge singer’s closest friends and collaborators will bound together this December for a London tribute concert.

Marking what would have been his 60th birthday, Mark Lanegan – A Celebration will feature guests like his Queens of the Stone Age cohorts Josh Homme and Troy Van Leeuwen, fellow Soulsavers vocalist Dave Gahan of Depeche Mode, his Gutter Twins partner Greg Dulli, and more.

A previously unreleased Mark Lanegan song titled “Heard a Train” has been unveiled ahead of the reissue of the late singer-songwriter’s 2004 album Bubblegum.

Last month, it was announced that the reissue, titled Bubblegum Xx, would arrive in different formats on August 23rd, including a 4-lp/3-cd box set containing a plethora of unreleased songs, demos, and rarities.

Now, the Bubblegum outtake “Heard a Train” is available to stream below. The song begins with a simple organ and Lanegan’s recognizable voice, before kicking into a full-band performance.

In addition to a handful of outtakes, including one featuring Beck (“Union Tombstone”), the deluxe reissue also contains a number of songs recorded with Queens of the Stone Age’s Troy Van Leeuwen dubbed “The Hotel Sessions.”

In a tribute to Sin City, Orville Peck and Beck perform back-to-back on a roulette wheel and rope in Sharon Stone for a glitzy Casino callback in the music video for their duet “Death Valley High.”

The clip even opens with the words “Peck Beck” in lights, paying tribute to Elvis Presley’s ’68 comeback special. The song, which will appear on Peck’s upcoming Stampede album when it arrives next month, also bears a jaunty resemblance to Presley’s “Viva Las Vegas,” though the King could never rap like Beck.

The late Mark Lanegan’s acclaimed 2004 album Bubblegum is receiving a deluxe 20th anniversary reissue, featuring loads of previously unreleased songs and demos, including a collaboration with Beck.

Titled Bubblegum Xx, the reissue arrives August 23rd, and marks the first posthumous release since Lanegan’s passing in February 2022.

The original Bubblegum album, which has been remastered for this reissue, features a who’s who of guest musicians, including Lanegan’s Queens of the Stone Age bandmates Josh Homme, Nick Oliveri, and Troy Van Leeuwen, as well as The Afghan Whigs’ Greg Dulli, and classic Guns N’ Roses members Duff McKagan and Izzy Stradlin, among others. Singer Pj Harvey also contributes vocals to two of the songs: “Hit the City” and “Come to Me.”

Korean entertainment giant Hybe said it will report an executive of subsidiary label Ador to police, a move coming days after launching an audit.

Hybe is also asking Ador’s CEO, Min Hee-jin, to exit. Min held an emotional press conference in Seoul and refuted allegations of usurping Ador girl group NewJeans‘ management.

NewJeans is a Billboard 200–topping girl group that is preparing to launch its new single, Bubble Gum.

Hybe is the label behind Korean supergroup BTS. It has issued a statement on the situation as of Thursday in Korea.

“On April 25 Kst, Hybe announced that the company will report CEO Min Hee-Jin of its subsidiary label Ador to police for a breach of trust and other related allegations today.
