We recently learned that Isabel May (1883 and 1923) had joined the cast of Scream 7 in the key role of Sidney Prescott's (Neve Campbell) daughter, and the trades have now confirmed a recent rumour that Celeste O'Connor has also signed on for the next instalment in the iconic slasher franchise.

No details on O'Connor's character were disclosed, but there's a good chance she'll play a friend of Sidney's daughter (and potential Ghostface victim).

O'Connor has previously appeared in both Ghostbusters legacy sequels, and also played Mattie Franklin, aka Spider-Girl, in Sony Pictures' Madame Web.

Campbell and new director Kevin Williamson recently announced that the seventh movie - which is seemingly being referred to as Scream 7 (ditching the Roman numerals) for the time being - is set to hit theaters on Feb. 27, 2026.

Scream 7 has added Isabel May, best known for her appearances in 1883 and 1923, to its cast in the key role of Sidney Prescott's (Neve Campbell) daughter.

A recent rumor claimed that McKenna Grace (Ghostbusters: Frozen Empire) was up for the role of Sidney's eldest daughter, Tatum, which we assume is the same character.

In addition to the Yellowstone prequel shows, May has appeared in Young Sheldon, I Want You Back, and Run Hide Fight.

We recently got confirmation that Courteney Cox will reprise her role as Gale Weathers. The Friends alum had previously stated that she hadn't officially signed on, but revealed to US Magazine that Gale will be back after coming very close to death (every one of those 356 knife wounds clearly missed her vital organs) in the previous movie.

"I’m the longest running Scream queen, so I guess I can’t stop now,” said the actress.

Update: This may, in fact, have something to do with Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse being available on the Sony Pictures Core app and some viral marketing after an influencer's Sony Bravia TV was "stolen."

Reflecting positive streaming trends at other media conglomerates, Disney leadership said in a Q4 and full year earnings call that the direct to consumer business saw profitability improve at the end of fiscal 2024 as subscribers and the company’s overall financial metrics exceeded expectations.

The company’s streaming business showed improved profitability of $321m compared to a $387m loss a year ago, and revenues climbed 15% to $5.8bn.

Star Neve Campbell and director Kevin Williamson have announced that the seventh Scream movie - which is seemingly being referred to as Scream 7 (ditching the Roman numerals) for the time being - is set to hit theaters on February 27, 2026.

Disney’s latest quarterly results overall sparked joy for the Mouse House — with the record-breaking “Inside Out 2” boosting profits and the company’s consolidated streaming business landing in the black for the first time.

That said, there were some mixed emotions: Operating profit for Disney’s domestic theme parks slipped 6% in the June quarter and the company warned that ongoing weak demand could hurt the segment’s results for “the next few quarters.” Meanwhile, Disney’s TV business, excluding ESPN, continued to decline.

Total revenue for the quarter increased 4%, to $23.16 billion, and operating income shot up 19% to $4.23 billion for the three months ended June 29 (Disney’s Q3 of fiscal 2024). Adjusted earnings per share for the quarter were $1.39, up 35% from $1.03 in the year-prior quarter. The results topped Wall Street forecasts, as analysts on average expected revenue of $23.07 billion and Eps of $1.19, per financial data provider Lseg.

Disney’s entertainment streaming segment, anchored by Disney+, scored its first profitable quarter, helping to partially offset continued weakness in the media conglomerate’s linear TV business for the first three months of 2024.

To be sure, Disney’s overall streaming business was still in the red for the quarter when factoring in ESPN+, which had an operating loss of $65 million. The company reiterated its expectation that its combined streaming operations will achieve profitability in the September 2024 quarter.

Overall, Disney revenue for the quarter ended March 30 was in line with Wall Street expectations, while it beat on adjusted earnings per share. The Mouse House’s results got their biggest lift from the theme parks division, where revenue rose 10% and operating income was up 14%. Disney’s theatrical revenue dropped year over year “as there were no significant titles released” in the quarter, and revenue in the linear networks segment declined 8%.
