The film opens with text stating that it is "based on true events". In reality, the true events in question are an incident which occurred in Azerailles, in eastern France, on the 2nd of September 2017, where 14 people at a music festival were struck by lightning while taking shelter under a tent during an unannounced storm, later experiencing various after-effects, including a couple who had an increased mental capacity for several weeks thereafter. Here the music festival became a wedding, the tent a tree and everything else in the film is pure fiction.
