Okay we have a great series here finally " IF YOU ARE OPENMINDED " you can enjoy something with your family coming to pros first - First of all as a limited series and that too not so anticipating series it has really really great VFX, I mean I was shocked that they outdid this job from many main studios , second the thrill and pace of the series it was fast and medium not slow so you gonna like it.
Not so many adult scenes kissing between 2 girls which was not necessary thou but yeah no problem I mean they in these time it's mandatory now idk why
Coming to bad or I should say dumb part - In many scenes I feel like the characters are the dumbest being on that whole island , I mean many accidents could be avoided but I think they deliberately chose that , but I think that's somewhat necessary 🤣😭 or the series could be finished in an hour.
But these bad points can be easily ignored.
Overall it's a great series if you wanna watch it with your friends and family , the camera work , VFX, the location all are great and good adventure series that is wrapped up in 4 episodes so you don't have to wait years to finish that up
In short go for it you will surely enjoy it. For me I enjoyed it a lot NETFLIX should make more family friendly thriller series like these.

I enjoyed this series immensely. There were all of the components to keep me fully absorbed throughout. Flawed heroes, love, family problems and end which to rank with the actual events of the Impossible. There were one or two seriously bad slips in the storyline but not enough to destroy the overall image. The acting and direction were consistently good. Visual effects were excellent. We do also have the additional point that the story is based on a real prediction that the Palma volcano might one day cause a massive Tsunami. As disaster movies go I would rank this among the best I have seen.
I liked so much of this. The scenery and cinematography were brilliant, as were the standard of animations, which felt very real. The intensity was non-stop as at some stage it just flicks on a switch and then never let's you go. I binged it all as I couldn't stop watching.
The thing that is really bizarre to me were the small plot holes, and silly teen romance which feels a bit childish, and slightly discredits what is an otherwise solid piece of television. I don't know why they did that as at some parts I found myself practically tutting at the screen. There are a few other nonsense moments, but if you can overlook that 10%, it is still brilliant.
Genuinely, a really enjoyable watch, and I would recommend it to anyone. I actually felt a bit guilty only giving this a 7/10 because if it wasn't for those small icks it could probably be an 8 or more. Merry Christmas!

Overall, good actors, an exciting plot, and plenty of great chemistry between the characters. It was never boring, even though the story is predictable. The music and atmosphere were great, and the effects were excellent. A few scenes feel very '90s, but that's easy to overlook-especially the airport scene. Some last-minute moments are also borrowed from '90s disaster films.
The overall result isn't perfect, but it's pretty good or even very good. One of the better Norwegian productions. The teenagers delivered especially strong performances, while a couple of the adult actors were typical Norwegian "average."
Recommended as light entertainment.

Good movie. Cool plot. Catastrophie strikes vacation-paradise for sun hungry Norwegians. As a father of a boy with autism, I can relate to this part of the story. The problem is that the father is very annoying. The Way he behaves is not normal. Pluss he is a bad actor. I dont know why he is in so many Norwegian movies, because he is a terrible actor. A pity, really.
Anyway...; it is a good story. I dont know if four epidodes is really necessary, though. There are a lot of non-important scenes, like everything with Charlie. Her whole role just consumes time, and is not constructive in any way...

This works on multiple levels - like clever kids (especially the youngest). Mum and Dad. Which the teenagers are worrying about (last year they used to stay up all night - just chatting together - whilst us kids just fell asleep happy, knowing mum and dad were very much in love - no problems totally normal family). Go on holiday maybe The Caribbean or Indian Ocean. And maybe come across the occasional Volcanic eruption, underwater earthquake and possibly a Tsunami in the Atlantic Ocean? I have almost nothing to criticise about this film, cos most of it is true - even on a scientific level.,,except if there was an enormous underwater explosion near the Canary Islands, which may well cause a Tsunami - like what happened in Sri Lanka in 2004, it would have almost no effect on the USA, except the surfing might improve in Texas. At the time, I personally declined to climb up a coconut tree- and went back to sleep...Our kids said Dad - wake up - we have got to go to the centre of the island.. Mostly been there and done that. Not too keen on the Black Sand from the Volcanic Ash - but personally recognise pretty much everything in this TV Series. Most of it is very close to the truth - Personal relationships, physics, maths, geology, and the quiet kid - brightest of us all. Kids are pretty much the same on the beach. Maybe your Norwegian kids met our English kids on the beach or will.

A Norwegian family arrive for a holiday on The Island of La Palma, their visit coincides with worrying activity at the Volcano. Scientist, Marie predicts a disaster, but The Authorities refuse to take her warning seriously.
It's quite difficult to give this series a general score, I've settled on a six, and based it on averages, one and two are decent, three is good, unfortunately the forth episode is a shocker, it wasn't good.
Nicely acted, no issues with the acting, or the visuals, at times it looks very good, the third episode in particular looked fine, and some great location work as you'd expect.
I have mixed opinions about the family and their story, sometimes the dynamic was interesting, it became a bit silly in the woeful final episode.
Now, episode four, I can't review without commenting on it, absolutely ridiculous, almost nonsensical, at times it just felt daft, Day After tomorrow on steroids.
It's worth seeing, just don't expect to be wowed.
6/10.

Don't start watching this series before sleep, because your blood pressure will shoot through the roof due to incredibly dumb characters.
Each of their actions is counter-intuitive and annoying as hell. The series drags on as non-interesting love/family drama with some mental health issues.
Special effects of tsunami and volcano are good, but their on-screen time is too short to make a difference or give you enough satisfaction after such an annoying family drama.
The problem is that you will want to binge it, in anticipation of a bloody tsunami, to get some satisfaction in the end.. so if you are going to watch it, start during the day. If you start in the evening, you will get pissed and disturb your sleep.
That said, I really hope Netflix continues doing apocalyptic/disaster pieces.. as there has been a lack of them in the past few years. But don't do it as series, with stupid drama fillers to drag it on! Just make a movie.
If this was a movie, it would have been much better.

It's entertaining enough.
It is a watered down Deja vu of Dante's peak without the charisma of Pierce Brosnan. It if you liked Dante's Peak, then you should find this one OK.
Why to watch it? There are breath taking shots of la Palma worth seeing it.
It could have been done in 2 hours. 4 episodes is a bit of a stretch for my liking. But it is OK. It keeps your attention.
Just like Dante's peak the government and bureaucrats are the ones that don't believe, makes things worse and ultimately risk people lives.
I found the namily dynamic a bit unrealistic to be honest, but it does give you a glimpse of how hard it is to have a member in the spectrum within the family.
