Near the end, the film has a "Fright Break" to allow squeamish viewers to turn it off before seeing the supposedly scary, gory scenes to follow. Variations on this have been used in other films, for instance "Chamber of Horrors" with Patrick O'Neal. As with that film, unfortunately, the scenes that follow in this one are neither scary nor particularly gory.
Michael Madsen, as Dr. Frankenstein, says to Elisabeta, who is imprisoned in his dungeon, "You belong to me now." Those are the same words that Madsen, as Sonny Black, said to Johnny Depp in "Donnie Brasco."
