Comedy inspired by paperback crime novels tells the story of an adventurous search for a mysterious murderer who just after the end of the First World War has begun a rampage in Wilson City, a jerkwater town somewhere in Central Europe. The investigation is being led by an inhomogeneous pair of detectives - a greenhorn and local police cadet named Kvido Eisner (Vojtech Dyk) and an experienced FBI officer Aaron Food (Jirí Machácek), who has been sent to Europe by US President Woodrow Wilson himself.—Czech Film Center

The World War I has just ended, and in one jerkwater town between Germany and Russia, somewhere in Central Europe, Mayor Dangl has begun dreaming a big dream, he is planning to have his town annexed to the United States of America and renamed "Wilsonov". In just one week he will sign the act at a ceremony in the local opera house in the presence of his friend, President Woodrow Wilson. All that is left to do is figure out how to fit another star on to the American flag and... sort out an unexpected problem that just arouse in the city, the beginning of some mysterious murders that nobody seems able to explain...
