Featured review
Immediately from the start, the film manages to set an eerie/ominous mood that will linger with you for the next 8 minutes. The main character, Daniel, "encounters something evil in his claustrophobic apartment" which is all that really needs to be said. The ambiguous plot flows very well with the whole feel of the movie and going further into detail would just reveal too much of the suspense...it's simply one of those flicks that you just need to sit down and fully immerse yourself into its world from beginning to end. While the cinematography is beautifully shot, another extremely important element in The Pallors world is the Insidious-like creepy sound/music. It has the type of vibe that will definitely make the hairs on the back of your neck stand straight and keep you on the edge of your seat guessing what's going to happen next. I've experienced the movie firsthand at a private screening and later on was lucky enough to see it premiere on the big screen at The Miami Short Film Festival.
In short, I recommend everybody who has 8 minutes to spare to watch The Pallor and to keep an eye out for more work in the future from the up-and-coming Cuartas brothers.
