Malice

White lotus vibes but it's nothing to tell your friends about. The lead creepy babysitter isn't the man for the job.. he's supposed to be creepy and hot. He's not either and his acting seems off for the roll. But Duchovny is great! I was getting Californiacation vibes from Duchovny the first 10 minutes of the show.

Jack Whitehall as Adam is so smug pretentious that he makes it a hard watch. He looked familiar but did not realize he's mostly done comedy until I read a few reviews. The reviews have also confirmed I'm wasting my time continuing with this. David and Charlotte are the strongest actors in the series to me with Christine Adams as support. I would not dare compare it to White Lotus as others have. It closes reminds me of the The Girlfriend with Olivia Cooke and Robin Wright. What the girlfriend did better was give you depth and character development. I enjoyed it as one of those disposable Rich White Woman in Gorgeous Houses type thrillers like Nicole Kidman and Julianne Moore specialize in. With Malice, I don't care what happens, that's what's missing from this series. Best part for me is the the title sequence, the art work is good.

I wanted to love "Malice." A vengeful tutor, a dysfunctional rich family, a sun-drenched Greek setting... what's not to like? Turns out, everything.

Jack Whitehall's Adam is less "chilling villain" and more "awkward dinner guest," his smirks undercut by a script that mistakes obviousness for suspense. David Duchovny's Jamie is the only one who seems to realize something's off, but even he can't salvage the slog.

The first three episodes are a masterclass in wasted potential: glacial pacing, laughable family dynamics, and a complete lack of tension. I bailed after Ep 3, but I would be shocked if the season ever recovers.

A cringefest. Skip it and rewatch The White Lotus or check out BBC's The Guest instead.

People have vivid imaginations. Yes, we saw a CGI of a cat, and fake snake, and a dog trained to lie still, and that was it.

I love animals. Anyone who knows me knows how much I love animals, but I can separate reality from movie fiction. I note those worrying about animals didn't mention the black girl being poisoned. Just saying.

As for the series, I liked it. Yes it was full of implausibilities and impossibilities but I judge on entertainment value and it entertained me no end. I wondered how long it would take the family to suss onto the fact that all was not well and whodunnit. :D Some hated the ending. I liked it. Isn't it tiresome, endings that are predictable?

Just a really bad watch. Weak script and even weaker acting. Jack Whitehall is not a serious or dramatic actor and the casting is a mystery to me. It reads like a school production and is generally poorly executed. I was fairly keen to watch this but half way through episode one I knew I was in for something less than mid.
