The poet and vagabond Eik Skaløe took off for Afghanistan with his friend Otto Kissum in the fall of 1967. Early next year Eik Skaløe send his fellow musician Stig Møller a couple of song lyrics. In May 1968 Eik arrives in Nepal, after having spent a short time in jail in India. Later he suffers from dysentery and is hospitalized in Kabul. By mid-October 1968 Eik Skaløe is found dead outside the city of Ferozopore/Firozpur, Northern Punjab, India.
