'Worth a Flutter' tackles toxic masculinity and the emotional wounds caused by ex-lovers and society from the perspective of our unreliable narrator, Matt. Matt seems to have it all: a nice apartment in the city, a flashy new car (almost paid for), and a 'quality bird', a favourite of the bookies. However, Matt has become disillusioned with life and seeks solace in Helen, the cafe owner. Helen is a rough diamond and an acquired taste, but she is also interested in Sam, another punter. As the story unfolds, we find out the tragic backstories that brought all of our characters to this point, as Matt prepares to take the biggest gamble of his life, his love life, showing that in love nothing is a sure bet.
