A very disappointing Girlfriends Films release, "Sisters 6" is an unquestionable example of the dubious practice of Bait & Switch. The label's website hawks each of the four vignettes with copy like: "Blonde step-sisters having lesbian sex", but none of the four segments of the video involve step-sisters making love. Instead, a girl has sex with the sister of a friend. A very lousy script (uncredited, as always) barely sets up the situation -it might as well be strangers meet and have sex.
Another problem is that director B. Skow is in such a rut that every scene (and this is true of several dozen over the past year or so) ends identically, with two women, eyes closed cuddled on a bed or couch ready to fall asleep in each other's arms. It's as if he is directing a scene about a gym workout, and has to end it with a "Cool Down" relaxation exercise to soothe overworked muscles, but in porn it is dull and repetitious.
Yet another defect here is the end of the star system. Girlfriends used to feature the top stars in lesbian porn, fan favorites, but now it is mainly unknown wannabes. Proof of this is that with each new release several of the actresses don't even have a (solo) photo displayed on the website. Recently Serene Siren was a contract player who (unfortunately from my POV) appeared on every video and even directed several, but that's a thing of the past.
Blake Blossom is the only name star here, and she's paired with fellow blonde Bree Brooks. They're secretly having a love affair, but Blake has to keep it a secret because Bree is an ex-girlfriend of Blake's sister (latter not shown on screen). Against Bree's better judgment, they decide to continue, defying convention. The trouble with this scene is that Bree, an attractive woman, has ugly scars on her breasts from augmentation surgery -quite a turnoff. How about casting a natural beauty instead?
The other scenes are all instantly forgettable: a butch styled Jill Taylor is thanked by Kallie Taylor for helping her against a trio of femme bullies who harassed Kallie at a bus stop, accusing her of being a lesbian. None of this is shown, and they mention that Jill knows Kallie's sister. The two Taylors having sex is boring and pointless, and I infer that their having the same last name is an unsubtle way of reinforcing the erroneous website description of their scene: "Step-sisters Kallie Taylor & Jill Taylor spend some lesbian time".
Brunettes Fiona Frost and Beca Barbie mention Beca's sister, but otherwise the scene makes no sense. And a final vignette has Gracie Gates frightened at the thunder & lightning of a storm outside, so Kitty Lynn comforts her with sex in the living room by candlelight. Gracie's sister "is away", not much of a hook for the scene being here.
