After years of dealing with his secret of depression, Bishop Stone is promoted to detective and still struggles to find the answers to his mother's murder. Norman is kidnapped while inside the prison, one inmate gets a rude awakening. This is the first episode of the pilot season 1.

In episode 2, Bishop attends the funeral of Detective Knox and finds out his mother's killer is soon to be released reawakening his depression and sending him spiraling. Lathaniel is beaten in prison and accused of snitching, while Norman is kidnapped.

As Bishop continues to adjust to his new title, he gets a unexpected break in the missing person's case . The Chief receives bad news during a visit from the Mayor which may turn out to be a blessing in disguise. Detective Ryan meets with an old confidential informant.

Just when it looks like all hope is lost, Detective Bishop Stone and Detective Ryan find a clue in the missing person's case. The Mayor has a plan but only with the help of a former employee. Diaz visits her father after a long absence due to her life.

In episode 6, Dots shares some important information information with Bishop. Ryan takes a surprise meeting with the enemy. Bishop learns a few details about Mr. Lucky that he wishes he hadn't and struggles if he should share this information.

As we wrap up the first 7 episodes of the pilot season, Bishop Stone is placed in a challenging predicament. A decision needs to be made quickly that will affect not only his job but his relationship with his grandfather. What should he choose? Which would you?
