      The British RAF did in fact operate the American-built Consolidated B-24 Liberator. They were ordered in 1940 but were only operational with the RAF from 1941. The RAF used the Mark II Liberator primarily in Coastal Command and Bomber Command (as depicted in this film), but also for carrying heavy cargo. Most of the aircraft were based in Britain and operated over Northern and Western Europe, but they also saw service in North Africa and the Middle East.
    • Goofs
      When Capt. Kirk was discussing the upcoming mission under the wing of his B-24 Liberator aircraft, a modern VOR antenna was seen on the fuselage. The aircraft must be a still-flying example of this great aircraft, but this equipment was not invented until in the late 1950's.

    Boring and full of erroneous information.

    I just LOVE WW2 flying movies. This has to be the worse I've ever seen. Never mind the wrong salutes and wrong uniforms. The rank of Lieutenant has NEVER existed in the RAF (or RCAF - same structure). Pilot Officer, Flying Officer, Flight Lieutenant and so on. If memory serves, this structure was established in 1919! Prior to 1919 the RAF was the RFC.

    The VW Kubelwagen the SS men were driving had a RIGHT hand drive. In Germany, right hand drive vehicles have NEVER been in use. Not even in WW2.

    The list of errors goes on and on and on...

    Too much crap, not enough believable action!!! Compared to such greats as Reach For The Skies, or The Battle Of Britain, this REALLY sucks!!!
