The role of Nadine was specifically written for Erin Russ, his girlfriend at the time. This was her second full feature role. Russ said in an interview that Hellfire showed her the script and she loved it. When he asked if she'd be willing to be naked through most of it, she just laughed and said, "Have I ever not been willing to be naked?"

William Hellfire contacted David Yow, someone he had admired for a long time, on Facebook about playing the priest. Yow read the script and loved it. Hellfire said working with him was a dream come true.
St. Mary's Catholic church heard they were looking for a holy water sprinkler and they donated one for the shoot, according to director William Hellfire.
Director William Hellfire launched an IndieGoGo crowdfunding campaign to raise $6,000 to get the film shot. He ultimately raised $3,860. The campaign featured a video with Hellfire pitching the project, while star Erin Russ sat next to him looking "like she wants to be anywhere other than seated next to him," as one critic pointed out. Incentives included a preorder of an autographed DVD, a Faux Religions comic from artist Mike Diana (Scummy Comix) and special thanks in the credits for $25. Larger donations earned nude Polaroids of Erin Russ taken on set, mini posters and lobby cards. A $250 donation earned a producer credit.
