An Even Trade

1 review

Real, but uninspired

Three rather ordinary vignettes from Bree Mills' "True Lesbian" series appear on this DVD, and they lack oomph.

Title scene was previously released in October 2023 on a DVD titled confusingly "Even Trade -not the same contents as the new one. "An Even Trade" is a segment about a shy girl who's bullied at college, played wimpily (and one-note) by Gizelle Blanco. She's befriended by jogger turned Good Samaritan Freya Parker, and as they get to know each other Gizelle successfully tutors Freya in math, imrprovintg her grades.

Reluctantly Gizelle ends up making love to Freya and eventually gains confidence. The scene is well-meaning as an intended life lesson but comes off as saccharine.

Cadence Lux's story is about her first lesbian experience, with Mackenzie Mace portraying her partner. They only get it on one time, when Mace visits her on vacation and they share the same bed in her parents' rented guest house. It's a simple but romantic scene.

"How Do You Know?" is a show biz story, well-acted by Laney Grey. She plays a publicist who is hired to straighten out movie star Anna Claire Clouds' career. Clouds had suffered through a scandal involving her boyfriend but she reveals to Laney that her relationship to him was a fake, engineered by the studio to cover up the fact that she was a closeted lesbian. Grey effectively brings her out of the closet by making love to her in a well-shot segment.

Stella Smut directed all three parts presented here.
