Featured review
"The Road to A-kon 24", Travis Landry's first documentary. I've been an avid fan of his youtube account for the past 5 years almost, and have loved most of his films. When he came back into filmmaking last year and announced "Midnight", i was delighted. While "Midnight" was good, this film came out and surprised a lot of people. Released just 3 months after his vigilante drama, "A-kon 24" came out out of nowhere, and the content and amount of work delivered was quite impressive, nonetheless for a 20 year old man. Travis only said one thing about this film being made in a video but never went into detail.
"The Road to A-kon 24" follows around 2 comic book nerds as they prepare for a Convention. 3/4ths of the film leading up to the actual festival is very enjoyable. Then they have a little turn of events but end up at the convention, where we get a montage and then a closing thank you to end the film. The Attention to detail is very spot on and Josh Pollack and Landry connect very well and seem to be THOROUGHLY enjoying everything they're doing.
If you like Comic book characters, Video games, and Anime a lot, then this film is for you.
