The Princess is an action real-time strategy video game developed by Titan Studios and published by Sony Computer Entertainment for the PlayStation 3. It was released in North America, Europe and Australia on July 30, 2009.
Cast
Features the work of legendary voice actress Tara Strong.
Verdict
The Princess is a multiplayer only game let's not kid ourselves, a team based multiplayer that features a multitude of game styles but at its core is really a version of capture the flag.
A range of roles, wonderful animation, simplistic style yet a steep learning curve The Princess is a cult game that didn't get the recognition it deserved due to it being "Indie", too much competition at the time and ridiculous controversies.
Give us a sequel, promote it correctly and we truly could have the next big thing.
Rants
So, the controversy. Remember it? "Some groups criticized the game's premise, accusing it of reinforcing stereotypes and promoting prejudice against overweight women". I never understood this and feel if the game had been The Prince we wouldn't have had the same outrage or rather any outrage at all. Stereotype? And promoting prejudice? How? Stop being silly, lighten up and enjoy the video game for crying out loud.
Edit: I've replaced the F word with The because I believe that word may be responsible for my original review being shot down.
The Good
Very addictive Wonderful team based fun Fantastic balance of complexity and simplicity
The Bad
Could have used a smidge more content Something was missing, not quite sure what.
