The movie portrays the life of two women showing modern-day feminism . Apart from feminism, what also deeply moved me was the self-explosure of Xiaoye about her vulnerbility towards intimate relationship, reflecting pains in dating culture and fears of childhood traumas. Growing up in a abusive family, she lacked the love and support needed to built the braveness and resilience in a relationship. It explains why she tries to fake an identity to look cool, plays hard to get, and becomes overly sensitive, saying sorry as a habit, even want Tiemei to punch her when she finds out about her lies. I couldn&#39;t help but teared up when Tiemei said to her &quot;There&#39;s got to be someone saying sorry to you&quot; and &quot;You are loved and cared right now, so you would have the courage and braveness to pursue real freedom.&quot;
