We just got the news that Annette Bening will be presiding over the Venice Film festival jury. Now we get two new photos of her as Gloria Grahame in the anticipated biopic Film Stars Don’t Die in Liverpool. And that's not all. The film has a UK release date of November 17. A Us distribution and release date news must be imminent. Unfortunately Bening presiding over the Venice jury not only rules the film out of that festival, but also out of Telluride which takes place at the same time, and the first and more important week of buzz building at Tiff. Unless they unspool the film without its star which seems unlikely. And we'd like her to get that festival buzz that is important for awards later on.
Till then enjoy the Bening and Jamie Bell as Grahame and Peter Turner, an actor she befriended late in...

“I think I’m going crazy,” Nora admitted in Sunday’s (as-usual) intriguing episode of The Leftovers. And by the time the hour was through, you might have felt like you were starting to lose it, too. For, although we got some big answers — about, for instance, what happened to Lily and what Mark-Linn Baker has been up to since “departing” — we were left with some even bigger questions. Such as? The most awaited trailer is here. As expected from a Vishal Bharadwaj movie, the trailer hints up on how intense, action packed and musically backed will be the love triangle set on the backdrop of World War II and India's struggle for Independence. The first half of the trailer is ruled by the Nawab, Saif Ali Khan who plays the role of a movie director having connections with the British officials and is possessively in-love with Kangana Ranaut, who’s playing the role of an aspiring actress inspired from the late movie actress, Fearless Nadia. Moving on to the second half, there enters Shahid who marks his romantic presence not only on Kangana’s heart but the audiences too. The upcoming year 2017 seems to be a ‘movie-filled’ year with so many movies lined-up for release. Adding one more movie to the list is ‘Ok Jaanu’. The film marks the return of the adorable ‘Aashiqui 2’ couple, Aditya Roy Kapur and Shraddha Kapoor. It also brings back the ace director Mani Ratnam after a gap of 7 years (‘Raavan’ being his last directed film) but not under the director’s cap but as a producer. The film is the remake of Tamil super hit romantic drama ‘Ok Kadhal Kanmani’. The storyline of the film revolves around the sensibilities that the youth of young India possesses wrapped in a romantic layer. The realistic approach of the film made it more relatable with the youth. The poster that has been released, shows a very inquisitive message on it: “Figure out kar lenge…13th Jan. 2017” Well, what Aditya and Shraddha figure out or what...

The most awaited love song of the year is here. Although, this French song ‘Ne Dis Jamais Je T’aime’ means ‘Never say I love you’ but still as soon as the song plays, it’s bound to hit your heart with love. The song shows the journey of Dharam played by Ranveer Singh and Shyra played by Vaani Kapoor from being complete strangers to much in love couple who keep on denying the fact that they are in love. As we can predict, they do have some commitment and emotional issues that keeps them from defining their relationship. Brilliantly sung in the power packed and melodious voice of Vishal Dadlani and Sunidhi Chauhan, the song will build that ‘connect-factor’ with the audiences. The other two songs which have been released earlier, are already topping the party chart lists with a clear sign of a hit. Befikre is going to...

‘Dear Zindagi’ enlightened us with the anecdotes of life. It made us believe that all our problems (except for the long Atm queue’s, all hail demonetisation!) can be solved with just a ‘change in perception’. And, when it comes to the most dreaded part, dealing with a ‘breakup’, we now have a life coach for that as well! When a heart breaks, the sound fades in to silence. But if you keep prodding within yourself, it becomes difficult and gradually turns in to depression. You never know for the one you are hibernating from this world, is actually celebrating his/her freedom from you. So, the question is, why to suffer and why not break-out? Yes, it is difficult but not impossible. Right Mr. Jahangir Khan? What you need to do is just fill the ‘Jug’ of life with those who matter and drain out those, who don’t!

And, the love birds are here again! Making the most out of ‘Sweet-November’, the much-in-love, Shahid Kapoor and Mira Rajput were seen together on a ‘Coffee Date’ and this time, we mean Coffee and not Koffee (with Karan). The love-struck couple, Shahid and Mira were seen relishing their cup of hot coffee in a ‘Gup-shup’ mode. Mira looked adorable, glowing in motherhood with a cute plump that was adding to her beauty. Shahid Kapoor, as usual rocked with his casual/sporty rough looks.

It would not be wrong to say, Shah Rukh Khan is the person responsible for the teenage girls to get their first crush-pimple, he is the person who’s topping all the brides-to-be’s list, he gives mid-age-crisis-love for all the 40 something girls and manages to make all the young-at-heart-oldies to still blush-on. Well, that’s the magic of Bollywood’s ‘Romance King’, Shah Rukh Khan. Often, we have heard him humbly saying that he is not that romantic but only a hard core Srk fan can understand the romance quotient in him, better! In his latest Interview with Bombay Times, as a part of ‘Dear Zindagi’ promotions, Shah Rukh makes us believe that no one can slip in to his shoes, in the matters of love and romance. On being asked about the same, Shah Rukh replied, “That’s why I am the King (laughs). I am completely a...

Readers are aware of the fact that Udta Punjab went through a lot of struggle to get a release without any cuts. After a prolonged battle with the Censor Board of Film Certification (Cbfc) over 89 cuts in the film, Bombay High Court had passed the film with just one cut. The film finally released on June 17 but is once again facing another road block. While the film has released in India and overseas, it is struggling to get a release in Pakistan. According to the chairman of Censor Board Sindh, Fakhr-Alam, they have asked the distributor to delete certain scenes due to the abusive language. Reports suggest that the law and censor code does not allow the extreme amount of abusive language. After the asked scenes will be removed, they will review the film and issue a certificate. Till then, Udta Punjab won't be released. Directed by Abhishek Chaubey and...

If there’s a trio of categories that aren’t given the respect that they deserve (or frankly, any respect at all), it’s the short film categories. Be it Best Animated Short, Best Documentary Short, or Best Live Action Short, they all are mostly ignored by the masses, especially when the first two have feature length cousins in Best Animated Feature and Best Documentary Feature to compete with as well. Still, they deserve to be noticed, so I wanted to quickly list what’s in contention this year. I’ve included the categories in my most recent Oscar prediction update, so there’s that as well. The Academy Awards are the sum total of all the categories, so these have their place, no doubt about that. It’s just a shame that more folks don’t recognize this. Here are the three short subject categories and the remaining contenders...
