Napad was a overall decent crime movie. Set during the early 90's we see a former cop his done on his luck untill one day he is approched with the opportunity to get his old life back, with one thing. He has to solve a grizzly bank heist that left four people dead. The clues are few but our hero must work with a young police woman in order to find out the culprits in time. I think this film had a good flow. It built up the mystery. Maybe certain parts could be better as I felt the movie was too long and couldve been more impactful if it were shorter. Good cast though, characters were written well and overall a enjoyable crime film.

A bank robbery ends up with casualties and the three robbers are out there as the evidence available isn't enough to pin them. A disgraced investigator is given an opportunity to solve this case while working with a prosecutor and he is one tough cop who goes by the book. On the other hand, the antagonist is the one who wants to stay out of prison no matter what. He is a by the book criminal who brings in the known tricks to escape. The cop has to nab this criminal in 15 days and what transpires in that period, forms the story.
This Polish investigative drama rather than a thriller sticks to it's template. I wouldn't call it a thriller as there is no suspense in who is the culprit and the steps he takes to save himself aren't surprising either. What does work though is the whole set up and the performances. There are no over the top action scenes, the writing does push towards the obvious and the backstory to the villain is not as effective. The serious cop played by Olaf Lubaszenko is the main highlight and he brings in the right amount of intensity in his performance. Two of the confrontational scenes between Olaf Lubaszenko and Jedrzej Hycnar who plays the antagonist were well executed. Overall, Justice is a one time watch at best and offers nothing new. It is the performances that drive the film.

It's a decent crime/thriller filmed in a minimalistic style, focusing on human emotions and expressions rather than on special effects and fast-paced action. If you like that type of movie, it's worthwhile to watch. The acting is excellent, especially the main cop. Tadeusz Gadacz is portrayed as a highly-skilled investigator with a murky past, and the plot weaves in political elements, such as the privatization of large banks, adding layers of tension. This movie truly shines if you are Polish, or maybe you understand Poland's political and social context in the 90s, where the film is set, and subtle jokes or references are made. That's how you'd make most of this movie, I'd say. Then it's 8/10 for sure.
The prologue explains that the movie is partially based on factual events, which show throughout the film.

Surprisingly well written dialogues, substantly inspired by "Psy", in this film which is a creative interpretation of a real-life bank robbery during the political changes in Poland in the 90s.
You will find many reviews criticising the fakeness of the case, but if you approach Napad/Justice the way the filmmakers want you will get a really entertaining police thriller with a body count like in the good Midsomer Murders, a grim old secret communist policeman in the lead, suspense that comes out of absolutely nowhere, a not particularly sensible investigation, but for all that very pleasantly acted (even the child actors!), with really good dialogue and great sets and costumes (I give a seal of approval as someone who remembers the 90s from my childhood and teenage years).
Basically, it was clearly an attempt to create a typical American thriller from a streaming service, only set in Polish early capitalism reality. And in this category I have no hesitation in recommending it.

A particularly brutal bank robbery takes place in Warsaw. So bad that the planned bank merger in the now democratic Poland of 1995 could be at risk. A long-retired police officer from the former secret police named Tadeusz Gadacz (Olaf LUBASZENKO) is suddenly reactivated. His ultra-brutal methods from his communist past could now be useful again. Gadacz is to support the young inspector Aleksandra Janicka (Wiktoria GORODECKA) in her investigations. It quickly becomes clear that the young Kacper Surmiak (Jedrzej HYCNAR) and his two friends Marek (Stanislaw LINOWSKI) and Bartek (Lukasz SZCZEPANOWSKI) could have something to do with the bloody robbery. But in Poland after the fall of the Berlin Wall, a policeman like Gadacz can no longer torture the truth out of them...
The global streaming provider NETFLIX has added a very exciting crime film by Michel GAZDA to its program. It tells very emphatically about the trials and tribulations of the post-reunification period in the former communist Poland. In terms of structure, it is of course very reminiscent of the Spanish crime classic LA ISLA MINIMA from 2014, but is so haunting, moving and unique that watching this heist movie in the guise of a dark social portrait is definitely worth it! The Polish film industry has repeatedly proven in recent years what great genre stories can be discovered there.

This movie is quite absorbing from the very beginning and keeps getting better as the narrative progresses. The climax is thrilling too. The plot is about a bank robbery in which the robbers brutally kill three female employees after taking the cash. The authorities are shocked and embarrassed with the unwanted media frenzy. They recruit an ex cop to carry out a swift investigation and nail the perpetrators at the earliest working along with a policewoman of the department. The investigation takes the cop and the policewoman to various locations for questioning of the people associated. It is winter and both trudge along snow covered streets and fields of the countryside. There is a little bit of action and a few scuffles to give the proceedings a bit of tempo.
The movie definitely makes for very absorbing viewing and the acting is of a good standard. Actor Olaf Staszcczyszyn ( tongue twister!) as the ex cop gives a professional touch to the investigation and has acted realistically. His partner in investigation Viktoria Gorodecka ( resembling Jessica Chastain ) playing the policewoman is impressive too. The cinematography is of a top standard.

The performances are nothing short of exceptional. The lead actor delivers a powerhouse performance, embodying the complexities and inner turmoil of a character seeking redemption. The supporting cast also shines, each bringing depth and nuance to their roles, making the film's world feel incredibly real and immersive. The screenplay is sharp and thought-provoking, offering dialogues that resonate and leave a lasting impact.
In conclusion, Justice is a perfect watch, with a blend of entertainment and substance. It is a powerful reminder of the complexities of justice and the importance of standing up for what is right.

Movie starts with a bank robbery gone wrong. Instead of a big haul robbers get away with a small haul and 4 dead bodies. An old, retired and disgraced former secret police officer is called in. Because reasons. There is more to the robbery as it meets the eye as the bank the office belong to is in the process of being privatised and merged.
So far so good. But then entire thing starts to go downhill. There is little mystery. There is no thrill in this thriller. Acting is pretty solid but the story is not. People do things that make no sense, plot unravels in odd direction.
Sadly this isn't a case of a movie where script just needed to be polished a bit more to make it good, it's a movie that is problematic with few things saving it from a total disaster.

This is a very fine police drama from Poland, and it reminds me greatly of the Icelandic police drama series Trapped and Entrapped which also were extremely successful for Netflix. No pretty people, bleak surroundings, people who have problems in relationships due to their circumstances and cops who know how bad the gutter is because they are only a few steps removed from it themselves.
The current IMDB rating as I write this for the film is 6.3. That is a travesty. It may be that the writers gave away a bit to much to early, but it still was a riveting movie that one will watch to a suspenseful conclusion. Sure it is not some super sci-fi blockbuster but overall it is well done film making.
I know the setting for the movie is supposed to be in the past, I am guessing the early 2000's, but I sure hope Poland today is not as bleak as what we view in the movie.

A Polish crime investigation thriller caught my interest with its intriguing plot. I was expecting an edge-of-the-seat thriller, but it turned out to be quite laid-back.
The movie, partially based on a true story, centers around a bank robbery where three employees and a security guard were gunned down in cold blood. An ex-police officer is given a chance to reclaim his former life by solving the case within a stipulated time.
The movie has a promising start with the crime scene and the formation of an investigation team, setting expectations for a thrilling experience. However, it introduces suspects early on, leaving no room for guessing, as the culprit becomes evident almost immediately, killing much of the suspense. The pace of the movie is slow, and with no major revelations, it becomes tiresome to watch.
Olaf Lubaszenko, as the investigating officer, fits the role perfectly, delivering a subtle performance that shines throughout. He is ably supported by Wiktoria Gorodecka, while Jedrzej Hycnar, as the prime suspect, steals the spotlight and showcases a range of emotions, proving his acting mettle.
The cinematography is top-notch, capturing the essence of the '90s setting convincingly. While it's understandable that the movie aims to stay true to real-life events, it lacks the dramatic spice needed for a captivating watch. This is where the movie fails to deliver. With bloodshed and gory scenes, it's definitely not one for the kids.
If you plan to skip this, you're not missing much. An investigation movie should have arcs of thrill, suspense, and twists, and this one falters in all these areas.

1st things first why everyone complaining about scene where bad guy tried to kill a cop, guys chill out it is an movie not a real life situation.
Overall good movie for evening, good acting, I would say minus for music hahah that was too much of violen.
Yes, it is minimalistic, there no fancy **** out there just regular poor life of characters.
The mooost important detail of the film that we had our suspects whole movie along isn't an miracle?
You basically know that they did it and detective has to prove it, I would say plot is pretty decent, also please take into consideration buget of the film I'm sure it is not skyrocketing one.
I would recommend wathing it? For sure!

Spoilers:
Well made bank heist movie, plot is decent was based on the Wolow bank robbery but largely fictional, the only real event being just the robbery. The setup was realistic and acting were convincing, plot is classical cops chasing robbers wit competition which is enjoyable with good twists and intensity. For the part were the reviewers were having issues can be explained by the detective being confidence enough and wanted to pin all of them to their crimes instead of just an attempted murder by one. The ending is a bit of a letdown as the weapon is a weak connection since they were wearing gloves at the robbery and there's no proof that they stole it, which needs a better explanation and drama to be more satisfying. Nevertheless it's a recommended movie that had surpassed my expectations.

This movie is an absolute disaster from start to finish, a pathetic attempt to mimic the worst of Bollywood but with none of the charm or quality. It's like they took a poorly written script from a bargain-bin Bollywood reject, slapped on some low-budget effects, and called it a day. The acting is so painfully bad, you can almost see the actors reading their lines off cue cards. No chemistry, no emotion, just flat, lifeless performances that make you wonder if they even cared about the movie at all.
And don't even get me started on the storyline. It's like they pieced together random ideas from other movies, hoping it would somehow make sense, but instead, it's just a confusing, chaotic mess. Nothing adds up. Take the cops, for example, these are supposed to be professionals, but they can't even keep the main villain in custody. The minute they let him go, they're out there panicking and chasing after him like they didn't just have him in handcuffs five minutes ago. How does that even make sense?
The entire plot feels like it was written in a rush, with zero attention to logic or detail. It's like they threw every cliché in the book at the wall to see what would stick, and absolutely none of it did. Every scene feels forced, and nothing is believable. The pacing is all over the place, too, one minute it's dragging on forever, and the next it's rushing through key plot points like they realized they were running out of time. By the end, you're just left wondering what you've wasted two hours of your life watching. Honestly, this movie is a complete trainwreck.
