Movie is highly recommended, 100%; story of a SICKO vs a PSYCHO haha. It's a twist to a twist to a twist to a twist of story in this very modern time. Shin Hae Sun as Han Sora DEVOURED her role, if you're her fan, you'll definitely be left in awe. It's very captivating and entertaining to watch because of her and Byun Yohan who played Gu Jeongtae. Directing, bgm, camera tricks are also well played, KUDOS to the director and prod team. As Haesun/director said, NO GOOD PERSON is in this movie but it is ADDICTING. The end doesn't justify the means but its enticing to watch when push comes to shove is done!

How can she write so delicately without a fixed good versus bad framework? Good vs Bad is basic, yes. If you think about it, it's basic, but it's used in almost all movies because it starts the story. However, the writer of 'Following' chooses a more difficult path, and she makes it work. Freaking ending is the perfect example of how she balances morally right and wrong. When Gu gets out of prison, the movie starts to depict him as a nice guy, and I'm shouting 'Don't just hand out free passes to the stalker especially when stalking and killing ex-girlfriends are social phenomena in Korea.' Then, Detective Oh says 'look what you've done to your life.' Bam! That's what I'm talking about. She made it look so easy, but I'm sure bringing the right amount of justice to different intensity of crime is not an easy job. At the same time, she criticizes these days's obsession with social media in a subtle (not obvious like one of those exhortative films) way
* Shin's acting is absorbing and convincing as heck. Just superb.
* I just realized 'Following' is Kim's directorial debut. Kudos and looking forward to the next project.

It's digital age horror, Hitchcockian suspense, Korean police procedural, and a dash of Nolan non-linearity. I didn't know which way it was going, and I don't want to ruin it for anyone else. It starts off quickly, introducing the protagonist who has the bad hobby of covertly intruding on others lives by rifling through their possessions, in their homes he is retailing. And soon find himself in the clutches of an even worse obsession. There are some technical problems with the film. The flashbacks are not well limned. The Korean texts on cards and reports and smart phones are not closed-captioned so you lose a bit. And there is always the difficulty of keeping everybody straight with the unfamiliar names. So you must pay close attention, which will make the resolution less of a surprise then it might be. That said it is still easy to admire the scripting. The acting is very strong. I'm a great admirer of the radiant Lee El who plays the female detective and made the lugubrious My Liberation Diary watchable.
If you are the patient sort and can give it your full focus, you are in for a treat.
