The first three episodes received an advance screening in theatres across Japan from June 14, 2024 to June 27, 2024. The regular TV broadcast started on July 4, 2024.
Based on a Japanese manga series written and illustrated by Angyaman. Angyaman originally submitted the manga as a webcomic to the Jump Rookie website in November 2021, where it ranked first place. The manga then began as an indie serialization for 29 chapters from March to October 2022 on the Shounen Jump+ web magazine and was promoted to an official serialization the following week. Shueisha shipped the eighth volume on July 4, 2024.
Even before the decision to make an anime was made, the author Angyaman posted on social media that fans of the original work had been recommending that Wednesday Campanella's song "Maneki Neko" be used as the theme song, and so it was decided that they would be in charge of the theme song.
