This was the film we were waiting for after the festivities. Gashmeer Mahajani shines through his performance as Shastri. Tol sambhalaycha ki taal ?? He looks the part too. Prajakta Mali also does a good job as Phulwanti especially in the last scene when she dances around the Tulsi Vrindavan, although her dance sequences could have been better. Also, she could have been more impactful in the scenes where she is potrayed as an arrogant dancer. At times she speaks fluent Marathi and at times she falters .A special mention for Chinmayee Sumit and Vaibhav Mangle who were massively impactful despite a small role.

This is a story of a female dancer, Phullwanti,(and a Vedic scholar, Venkatadhwari Narasimha Shastri, to be precise :D) in the eighteenth century CE. She is a renowned dancer throughout Bharat. She is one of the much sought-after dancers for the royalty. She performs in the Mughal Darbaar & mesmerizes the Baadashaah who honours her with a title and a gift, but puts one condition. The free spirited dancer declines it and unequivocally stresses the importance of an art.
A Vedic scholar insults the dancer during her performance at the Peshawe Sabhaa in Pune. She seeks the justice from the Peshawa & the fight between the dancer and the scholar ensues.
The story emphasizes the importance of a perspective. It does underline that going beyond a thought is the first step towards experiencing life to the fullest extent!❤ The end is beyond the scope of words! Speechless!😇 Anyone who has experienced deeper layers of life would feel ecstatic!!!

There is a lot for everyone to take home who watch this movie. If you are a deep spiritual person, you will start seeing the deep & subtle indications and transactions happening between a guru and shisya. The grandness of each character is well played by all actors & actresses. The story line how it starts and how it ends is totally different. And at the end no one cares how the movie started and what happened to the original story. They have touched very important and deep subjects which are very difficult to express. All is well done. Hate off to the whole team. The real talent of Prajakta has come out. Gashmeer's innocent and authentic eyes speak a lot about his character. There is so much to learn just by watching this movie. Its almost equal to the other great movie "Katyaar Kaljat Ghusali". That is the best compliment I have for it.

Saw Phullwanti Marathi movie today... felt writing about "Phullwanti" especially due to its cinematography, a grand, emotionally rich narrative, performances and perhaps a visually stunning presentation with practical effects in the age of VFX.
I think more context about the main character Phullwanti would have added depth to her character but due to budget constraints makers might have kept her intro limited for the opening scenes... but the movie is one of a kind and each and every actor gave an emotionally invested and heartfelt performance, may it be Gashmir, Prajakta, Vaibhav Mangle, Kshitish Date, Jayvant Vadkar and Hasyajatra fame actors. Phullwanti made a strong impression, with each actor bringing something special to their role. This movie is a musical treet for the audiences. Phullwanti levels with the cinematic masterpieces like Sanjay Leela Bhansali's "Devdas" and Ashutosh Govarikar's "Lagaan". The songs and dance numbers in Phullwanti were exceptionally captivating and skillfully executed-almost like they had a magnetic charm. The music and choreography really stood out! Prajakta's dedication and passion for dance truly elevated this film! Phullwanti successfully captured the essence of the Peshwa era with practical effects, set designs, and attention to detail rather than relying heavily on VFX. This approach often creates a more immersive and authentic experience, drawing the audience into the historical setting. The limited use of VFX likely allowed the film's artistry, costumes, and sets to shine, making the depiction of that era feel more genuine and appealing. It's impressive when a film can bring history to life so vividly! Snehal Tarde's direction, Pravin Tarde's well-crafted script and dialogues, and Mahesh Limaye's stunning sets and cinematography seem to have come together beautifully which brought the Peshwa era to life in a remarkable way. Every frame feels like a painting, emphasizing the historical richness and the grandeur of that time period. It's rare to find a film that captures history with such artistry, making it a once-in-a-decade masterpiece! Being able to work on-set Marvel productions I have a unique perspective on the effort and artistry involved in creating immersive worlds on screen. Phullwanti resonates with me, especially as a Marathi film.
Phullwanti has done justice to PadmaVibhushan Babasaheb Purandare's novel. The relationships and struggles of Phullwanti, Shastribuva and his wife Laxmi were portrayed in a way that made them relatable and admirable. Their growth and the respect they earn by the film's conclusion is both moving and satisfying.
It's unfortunate that Phullwanti didn't receive the theatrical response it deserved, especially given its strong storytelling and production values. Limited promotion can really impact a film's visibility. Showcasing compelling cut scenes as a teaser on youtube, like Vaibhav Mangle's strong entry as a "Martand Bhairavacharya", could definitely help generate buzz and attract more viewers.
Reviving stories from the Maratha Empire and the Peshwa era can be a powerful way to celebrate and preserve Marathi culture. These historical narratives are rich with themes of valor, governance, and cultural achievements, which can inspire pride and connection to one's roots. It's important to keep these stories alive, as they can foster a sense of identity and belonging.
Prajakta Mali's ambition to adapt more novels into films could significantly contribute to bringing more stories from the Marathi culture to life. Her Phullwanti shows her talent and dedication, so it's wonderful to see her exploring new projects. Wishing her all the success in this endeavor!

Watched this movie in the United States and it was just wowwwww. Prajaktta Mali's dance and Gashmeer's acting is a perfect combination in the movie. The movie was very engaging and has a unique storyline. Prajakta Mali delivers a standout performance as Phullwanti, bringing both grace and intensity to the character. The film is rich with stunning period details, elaborate costumes, and a strong music. Definitely rocking the box office.
All the best team Phullwanti and eagerly waiting for the part 2. The beautiful sets reminded me of Sanjay Leela Bhansali movies.
Great job team Phullwanti😊...

I usually don't watch Marathi movies a lots. But this one I Watched this one on theater after the movie duniyadari and was amazed with all the performances, dances , direction and music. Truly a great creation 😌
Prajakta mali has given her 100% and I also liked the dresses the sets the locations and can't stop praising the hunk Gashmit Mahajani.
All in all its a must see movie , and a overall good entertainment, I would say.
I wish all my luck to this movie and may it reach its height.
All other characters like Sameer gaurav Vanita etc also have very short yet long lasting performances in this movie.
I think now a days Marathi movies have a good script and excellent execution as compared to the early days .

Really good movie with perfect production perfect sets and unique love story, I am cutting 1 star for the look of prajakta mali look because at the starting of the movie it doesn't match with the other characters acclaim of fulwanti. And there is a unrealistic acting by side characters for some frames, and if we talking about positive really every thing is positive in this movie I really appreciate the direction on snehal trade mam. And already big fan of gasmeer mahajani and have lot of respect for his acting now it increases more respect for him , and I really like the prajaktas acting when movie is going the end.

This movie is just something people always wanted but few aware of.
Awesome storyline, Great characters, Visibly Awesome, top notch direction, Lovely Music & Engaging climax.
Treat for eyes, ears and heart. Prajakta Mali has done brilliant job as Producer and Actor. She is amazing in and as Phullwanti. Gashmir Mahajani also equally steals the show with his amazing presence as Shastri buva. Every other actor is brilliant in there own role.
With Great production value this movie shines as one of the Masterpiece from Marathi Industry. I was fortunate to watch this even after month of it's release in theater.
Looking for more from Prajakta Mali and Team. Kudos!!!

#Phullwanti is one of the best feature film I have seen in recent times. Acting, Direction, Screenplay, Music everything is unmatched. Kudos to the team.
Starting with the dance and facial expressions or Prajakta is just wow.
Acting of Gashmeer is more than enough to prove that he is one of the finest actors of recent times.
I am not a Marathi speaking person, I watched it with subtitles, yet it was a mesmerising experience for me which I will never forget. Recommended all my friends and family to experience this awesome performance which is creating milestones.
Thank you makers for this awesome experience.
This must be made in other languages for cater to wide masses.
A must watch.

"Phulwanti" is an exceptional movie. From set design to storyline and music, every aspect is beautifully crafted. Adapted from the novel of Padma Vibhshan Shri Babasaheb Purandhare with the same name, it's a story of clashes of ego between an exceptional dancer, Phulwanti and eminent scholar, Venkatdhari Shashtri.

The amazing performances and extravagant sets pull viewers into the film's historical setting. The well-paced screenplay allows for a smooth viewing experience. The story starts with Prasad Oak inviting the protagonist to Pune but his role ends there. The loop remains incomplete, and was not needed in the first place.
The language of the protagonist is inconsistent, she keeps on switching between pure Marathi to regional dialect multiple times through the movie.
The storyline/ picturization is confusing, maybe it's kept that way with a purpose but the delivery does not justify the same.
There are multiple unconnected dots which never connect. They tried unfolding it in the end but the communication was neither effective nor convincing.
At one instance there's also a lip sync error with Gashmir.
Overall, the story and the cast had a lot of potential but the executive was not as good. The story starts on an interesting note but ends on a loose one.

Really enjoyed this movie with the dialogues, dance and dedication of actors. It's a great movie and must watch. Prajakta and Gashmeer, both have performed so well and naturally.
The movie set brings the vibes of the nostalgia. The women's respect is one of the major highlights which takes it to another level.
Paithani Sarees and dresses have been exactly matching to the imagination and making the looks more elegant and extraordinary.
Overall this is the movie I definitely recommend to watch for the dance, acting, concept, dialogues and story, everything is just perfect and have taken Marathi movie to a new level.

One of those movies that leaves mark.... Prajakta, Gashmeer and all the cast shines in this beautiful movie. Not sure how to put it in words but this is what Marathi movie was waiting for. Every aspect of film making was well executed. The music the choreography and the cinematography is something to be praised. Prajakta lived Phulvanti and Gashmeer lived the role of Shastri. Their emotional connect and chemistry was so beautifully enacted. I wish Marathi cinema brings out more of such visually rich movie. The sets and the overall feel of the movie was like back to those time of Peshwa.
Thank you Prajakta for giving us this movie🙏
