Decent, but not enough spice...

The premise of the show was titillating, and upon watching, it largely lived up to my great expectations. The humor was topical but not hamfisted, and I found myself chuckling along with the "live" audience (LOL)! There was also a surprising amount of heart and emotional sincerity.

Even so, Charlie and Norm's relationship was a bit tame for my taste. Even though they are supposed to be lovers, and they have good chemistry, their dynamic was unusually chaste and innocent. Turn up the HEAT! Although I hear that in the next episode, there will be a long and steamy make-out scene between the two, which I SO look forward to.

Very excited to see what's in store! I hope Elon joins in on the action in the upcoming episodes; it may be a tall order, but I think we can all agree that we need a bit more sugar daddy CEO naughtiness in the show (teehee)!

The worst pilot I've ever seen

I've watched a lot of horrible pilots in my day but this pilot might take the cake as the worst pilot I've ever seen. The first problem is it's trying to get both sides of the political spectrum to like this shows pilot but it's failing horribly at doing that. This causes the show to try to do edgy jokes but they fall flat or aren't really edgy and more close to edgy but are really scared to get canceled so they don't do full edgy. The next part is the characters are sorta bland and generic. We got the old guy, the new generation kid, the mom, the they/them/that guy, and the african american guy who is best friends with the old guy. And finally the worst part of the show to me is it's a twitter show meaning I will have to login to twitter to actually to watch any new episodes that are coming out.

A failed "parody"

Parodying "woke"ness is a common thing in sitcoms. Some of them do it very well - Futurama had an episode about marriage rights, The Simpsons doesn't do it too well but still manages to turn it around by the end, as is the case with many shows.

This is not one of them.

The jokes the show attempts to pull off are INCREDIBLY generic. You've got stuff like the dog RANDOMLY being non-binary, as if that's supposed to actually elicit a reaction. The jokes definitely "attempt" to be edgy, but the writing reeks of trying to straddle the line between too offensive and not offensive enough to avoid getting cancelled... in a show about being offensive, albeit to a very specific part of the population.

Bad

It was just bad, the jokes aren't funny, like I get the point of the show but it's just weird and I can't watch it without cringing. I gave it 1 star because I can already see that it's garbage. The characters are badly written, they barely have any backstory and they just look bad, I don't want to look at them anymore. It looks like it's written by AI because what human being would actually find any of these things funny (I'm not even getting started on the song)... Situations in this "comedy" are just unrealistic, I'm reminding you, it's supposed to be a sitcom but it's nowhere near that. 1 star.
