Second film that Ben Barnes and Katherine Heigl worked together on. The first being The Big Wedding (2013), where they play brother and sister.
This marks the second collaboration between actress Sheryl Lee and director Ami Canaan Mann, the first being Texas Killing Fields (2011). Mann described Lee as an "incredible actress, totally underused" and said about her performance in 'Texas Killing Fields': "Sheryl Lee came in and blew me away."
