In the novel Four Past Midnight where the story The Langoliers came from. There were 11 passengers left over not 10. The 11th one was an unnamed man with a beard who asleep almost the whole time from being hungover.
(at around 1h 25 mins) When Dean Stockwell's character says that it is not possible to travel through time, he mentions stopping the Kennedy assassination. In Quantum Leap (1989), Dean Stockwell's character helped Sam (Scott Bakula) try to stop the Kennedy assassination through time travel.
