Not funny al all

Poor quality movie, cheap jokes, this kind of film industry is hurting the Romanian cinema. This movies are not representative for us,and represent sub-urban culture. Mostly the uneducated people from the countryside watch this tv-trash, and after a few months nobody remembers this " errors. The actors are often from a dubios back-ground,some of the are modest tv presenters, some of them are singers that failed their careers. Usually they try so desperately to act western, but the viewers don't relate with the ideas of the movies. I didn't liked the unnecessary cursings, slang, slur and bad-language. Maybe this movies are just some way to launder some money.

A thumbs up for Transylvanian mentality

I'm not sure what the reviewer before me meant by cheap jokes. I mean the whole movie is cheap, clearly made with little money, but I wouldn't call it unfunny. I saw it at a private screening last week in the US and it seemed funny enough but you have to be very familar with the West-and-Center of Romania to catch it. It had subtitles but they didn't reflect a lot of jokes because most are word based. I'd say though if that nobody goes to the movie expecting Hollywood stuff, it's not hard to connect.

Briefly, two adult friends are bullied exactly like children in a community which turns a blind eye so they decide to study karate for self defense. Now, this whole learn-kung-fu-in-your-forties stuff was funny to me. And the way the whole thing gets into their heads and instead of just defending themselves, they just want to rid the village of bullies it's definitely original, and often funny. 10 for the subject, 8 for acting because they really put their heart into it. Jokes should probably be at a 7, less if you relay on subtitles. Budget was low, but the intentions were rather good!
