Hmmm, what I did love is that it featured some beautiful spots in Cebu. Some of them I haven't even visited yet. Also, Cindy-she looks so good on screen.
The story is actually good, but the magic slightly faded for me because it felt like a mix of If I Stay (2014), Last Night (2017) and other romantic movies with the same theme. The storyline was also a bit predictable-I was able to guess why the title is '40' within the first 20 minutes, and I was right in the end. That's why I wasn't super blown away. The concept of '40' could even work for a horror movie. For me, though, it felt like the two leads didn't have much chemistry.
That said, the main message of the movie is to live life with purpose. It's all about making every moment count, not just chasing personal goals, but also making a positive impact on others.
Overall verdict: it's okay. Not bad, but not super amazing either. It's something in between but I still enjoyed it.😀 The theme song, 'Leaves,' kinda saved the movie for me.
