The original director of photography dropped out of the project the week of the shoot, and Konrad Arnold (editor) called upon local film director and cinematographer, Dean Garris, of "The Super Femmes" fame agreed to come on board last minute to replace the original DP.
At DJ's Berry Patch, in Apex, NC, it was raining the morning of the shoot, and was filmed quickly in between bouts of rain in order to not damage any of the equipment. Also, persistent tractors and traffic made getting sound an issue.
Other locations considered for the shoot were ComedyWorx in Raleigh, NC (courtesy of Richard Gardner), OnWired's offices in Cary, NC (courtesy of Tony Chester), and The Lucy Daniels Foundation in Cary, NC (courtesy of Lucy Daniels). Brewster's Pub was actually where several pre-production meetings were held as well as the brainstorming meeting the first night of the project. Seven, owner of Brewster's Pub, enjoyed the repeat business and was kind enough to allow the team to shoot there.
Kymberly Daniels, Production Manager, got permission from DJ's Berry Patch the very morning the film was shooting to use their location. When the cast and crew arrived at the Apex, NC strawberry patch, there were no strawberries as they had already been harvested. The original idea was to have Emerson Myers and Old Nick in a strawberry field flanked by rows of strawberries, but they were dry and empty. The decision was to go ahead and use the location as it also fit the story even in its barren state.
